Life On Board

When you are on board a Riviera Travel river cruise ship, you're staying in a luxurious, floating boutique hotel. Our fine fleet of five-star and four-star superior vessels are rated as some of Europe's finest river cruise ships by the Berlitz Guide to River Cruising. The highest standards of design and creativity have come together to produce a masterpiece of on-board style, featuring sustainable hardwoods, gleaming brass, polished copper, wrought iron and sparkling glass combined with soft leather furnishings in tasteful colour palettes. Immediately you will notice how spacious and beautifully illuminated the ship is as you set foot in the grand marble-floored lobby and are bathed in natural light, streaming in through the glass roof of the atrium above.

Top five frequently asked questions

There is no requirement to bring formal dress; smart/casual is acceptable for both day and evening as there is no dress code enforced. However, men are requested not to wear shorts for dinner or vest tops at any time in the dining room. Men may wish to wear a jacket and tie for dinner. The Captain’s Dinner offers the opportunity, should you wish, for more special attire.

Gratuities are not included in the cost of your holiday, as the decision whether to tip is entirely at your discretion. An envelope is left in your cabin on the final evening for you to drop off at reception the following morning, if you wish.

The cost of drinks is not included, as every guest has their own drink preference. Drinks are wll-priced and there is a comprehensive wine list.

Seating during mealtimes is always informal, so you are welcome to sit wherever, and with whomever you choose. Tables are set for four to six guests, and the maître d’ will be delighted to help you choose a seat.
