There are few countries in the world that have as much historical significance and intrigue as Israel. Humans have been living there for one and a half million years, making this region one of the first migrated to out of Africa and one of the most important in human history.

Said to be the birthplace of Jesus Christ, you will be able to visit several biblical locations during our Israel tours. Visit Caesarea, the ancient Roman capital of Judea; Bethlehem, where you can visit the Church of the Nativity; Nazareth and the sea of Galilee where he walked on water; and Capernaum where he performed several of his other miracles. And then there’s Jerusalem, where you can visit the Garden of Gethsemane, where he was betrayed and arrested, before following his path to the crucifixion.

But, of course, there’s so much more to the modern day country than the stories from the Bible and our escorted tours to Israel will show you why. For one thing, there’s the Western Wall, a truly holy site for all Jewish people, while the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem is a hugely significant shrine for Muslims. Jerusalem is a city that sums up the diverse religious backgrounds of Israel, with Jewish, Muslim and Christian quarters to visit.

Elsewhere, there are plenty of other highlights, including a trip to Jordan to visit the famous, ancient trading city of Petra, embedded in the rocks and seen in movies like Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade.

Israel has its own natural wonder in the form of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, 1,412 ft below street level. It was the world’s first health resort in the days of Herod and is one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water, with properties that have had tourists visiting it for thousands of years and continuing to flock there today. You’ll get to stay there on some of our tours to Israel, and can see for yourself why it has been such an important site. That can be said for so many of Israel’s religious, historic and natural highlights, which is what makes travel to Israel special for so many people, so why not find out what it means to you?
