With some of the most beautiful beaches, dramatic islands, fantastic food and wonderful sights steeped in history and culture, it is no surprise that the Land of Smiles has been drawing visitors to its stunning shores for decades.
This friendly, exotic and tropical country radiates a warmth and vibrancy that is unique, alluring and unmistakably Thai. Blessed with numerous gleaming temples and ancient ruins, Thailand also has a deep and rich legacy of religious devotion.
Bangkok is one of Asia’s most vibrant cities. Outwardly it is ultra-modern, with soaring glass skyscrapers and luxury shopping malls, yet at heart it is a traditional Buddhist society. Our intriguing tour of Thailand & Laos visits all the major sights, including the extensive Grand Palace, home of the revered Royal Family, and the site of the amazing Emerald Buddha, plus we see the city’s more intimate riverside life. Heading west to the province of Kanchanaburi, you will see the poignant site of the Bridge over the River Kwai.
Remarkably, Thailand was the only country in Southeast Asia not colonised by the West, so an exploration of its unique history is an intriguing journey. Our tour also visits Ayutthaya, the ancient capital city of Siam for five centuries. Going back in time even further to Thailand’s golden age, you will discover the ancient 13th-century Sukhothai Kingdom, exploring some of the most interesting sites in its beautifully maintained historical park.
