If you've just returned from a tour we'd love to hear from you.
Just to let you know that we arrived back from a great trip to Paris. Andy was the best guide we have had on our several trips to Paris with you. He is a credit to your organisation.

My wife and I did the 4 day Paris tour in August. It was recommended to us by our son, he did it a few years earlier. Again, following his advice, we selected the Ibis Bercy Village, and we weren’t disappointed, both with the accommodation and the whole tour. Bercy Village has all types of eating places just across the road from the hotel and is well placed for public transport.
Diane Inglis, our tour manager, could not have been more helpful, her
knowledge and delivery of information was excellent. The tours are
perfect for first time visitors, then, combined with info. from Diane, they enabled us to make the most of the free time we had.
I recommend this tour to anyone, young or old.

A special thanks to our guide Jonathan who gave 100 percent at all times, and was cheerful, amusing and informative.
We look forward to travelling with you again soon

I wanted you to know that Mark your representative and tour guide provided an exceptional service to those of us on the trip to Paris covering 3-6th June 2016.
He is professional, knowledgeable, personable and funny. Qualities found lacking in so many in the travel industry today. Mark went to great lengths to ensure everyone knew what was happening and enjoying the trip.
The only downside to the tour was the poor weather and the fact that the Seine had risen 16ft preventing our cruise and lunch on the river.
I do so hope you will acknowledge the care and attention given by Mark to all his charges. “Which” made a good recommendation.

Have just returned from the 4 day Paris tour. My daughter has always wanted to visit and this was a treat before she starts University. How well organised the whole trip was, we saw everything we wanted to, the highlight for Elizabeth being the sparkling light show of the Eiffel Tower viewed from the Trocadero. Versailles was awesome for me being a consummate gardener! Andy our tour guide was second to none and gave some really useful advice and his knowledge of Paris was fantastic. Thank you so much for a wonderful girly weekend.

We have just returned from Paris after a wonderful city break with Riviera Travel, I cannot praise our guide Andy enough, his knowledge of Paris is amazing and his commentaries are fabulous. We stayed in the Mercure Paris Boulogne which we found excellent, the hotel has been refurbished and has the added bonus of a rooftop pool which we enjoyed. The included tours were first class both in content and duration, our favorite was the “Paris by Night”. I would highly recommend this short break and if you are lucky enough to get Andy as your tour guide you are in for a treat.

My cousin and I have just returned from a brilliant weekend to Paris. Hotel was very good, modern, clean and the food very good, staff were all very pleasant but must praise our tour manager Jonathan, very pleasant and helpful, a joy to be on the trips with him. We went to the nightclub organised by Riviera and that was brilliant, very good meal and the entertainment superb. All in all a memorable trip, this was our second time with Riviera as last year went to Bruges and this holiday was just as well organised.

My husband, Lee, and myself have just returned from a 4 day Paris tour. Wow - what a wonderful experience! Having never been to Paris before, we were thrilled by each of the places we visited. The whole holiday was so well organised and ran like clockwork. There was no effort involved - all we had to do was turn up and enjoy ourselves. Paris by night was so beautiful - the illuminated Eiffel tower was amazing. Our lunch trip along the Seine was so relaxing and our bonus was great food and live music with attentive staff and a party atmosphere. We visited the Paradis Latin cabaret and enjoyed an evening of superb entertainment with good food and lots of wine. I think that one of the main reasons we so enjoyed ourselves was because of our tour guide, Andy Gourlay. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he gave us all the information we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Andy’s friendly personality made us all feel welcome and his local knowledge was second to none. He was on hand almost 24/7 and made everything run like clockwork, whilst retaining his good humour throughout. We can’t wait to make a second trip. Maggie and Lee

A group of 6 of us have just returned from a 4 day trip to Paris - and in the absence of any feedback forms - just wanted to let you know how much we all enjoyed it. The whole trip went really smoothly with excellent coach tours, transfers, hotel and a great courier in Cass, who was helpful and informative at all times.
We would do the whole trip again with no changes! On the way home the 6 of us decided it was such a good experience we would look for a similar break - so maybe Bruges next time. The cost was key to us as it was an extra trip to our normal holidays to spend time with our friends and we needed to keep to a budget. We’d love Venice, Amsterdam, Prague….....?!
We have been on several Riviera holidays now and have never been disappointed. Keep up the good work!

Another great trip with Riviera. Despite the building works near the hotel we had a very good time. We eventually found out how to buy metro tickets and the station was just across the road from the hotel. (Timhotel Berthier) Saturday was busy but excellently organised. The trip to Montmartre and the cruise on the Seine were very good and we used the free time to explore some more. Thanks to fellow guests John and Julie for their company.
The hotel rooms were very hot (no air conditioning yet) and it was too noisy to leave windows open at night. Our courier Cass managed to elucidate the hotel’s meal pricing structure.
Perhaps the only suggestion we will make is that for us as novice visitors to Paris we needed something organised for the Friday evening. Possibly the night trip could take place then rather than Saturday.

The tour manager was an amazing guy - never stopped talking all the time we were on the coach and was totally informative and entertaining from beginning to end. Nothing was too much trouble. I have never been to Paris before but it feels like an old friend in four days. I particularly like the way Riviera gives you chance to explore on your own, whilst still being there if needed - you can find your own level of support. Thoroughly enjoyed it and well worth the money. Thought Riviera were writing their own reviews at first but now I know they are not!! Hotel was brilliant too. Travelled on 13/07/2012

Never having travelled with Riviera before, I did not know what to expect from your company. I have to say it exceeded my expectations. From the time we boarded the Eurostar at St Pancras to leaving the train at St Pancras, our tour manager made sure we were well informed but was never intrusive. I have travelled with other companies where we were told what was happening and where we should be at any given time, not so with Riviera! Yes we were informed of activities, but then given the option to join them. Although the person I travelled with and I did take part in everything, it all seemed so relaxed and we didn’t feel “herded” from one place to another. The hotel was good; Bruges and its people were lovely; and to cap it all we were very lucky with the weather, albeit cold it stayed dry most of the time (I don’t suppose you arranged this as well, did you?). I have to say that our tour manager was a gem, informative, helpful and friendly. I do feel we are all too quick to complain, but I think we should also praise where it is due. So, all in all, a great trip with a great company and I will certainly be looking at the Riviera Travel brochure before looking at any other. Looking forward to travelling with Riviera Travel again. Our hotel was fairly basic, but very clean and comfortable, and the staff helpful and friendly. The included breakfast exceeded our expectations however and was a great start for the tour days. The location at the Bercy Village was brilliant, with lots of great places to eat and drink very close to the hotel. The tours were extremely well organised and the exceptional knowledge of our tour guide was so good and well put across, that I told him he should write a book. Hi. Just come back from a smashing tour of Paris. Our guide was excellent. Our hotel was very good and well situated. We were 3 ladies (over 60), never been to Paris before and we managed the Metro easily. We went to the Paradis Latin evening and enjoyed every minute of it, food and show was excellent. The trips were very good, and we saw a great deal of Paris, much more than we would have if we had traveled on our own. What we sampled of french restaurants left a lot to be desired, over priced and over rated. Lovely short break, thank you Riviera. Eurostar is a great way to travel. Traveled on 13/10/2012

I have just returned from a trip to Paris with Riviera Travel. What a fantastic time I had! I am still floating on air. Our representative Richard was a wonderful man. His attention to detail was incredible. Even on the way home he was still giving 100% effort giving us information as we saw the last few moments of Paris. I went away with my parents and at 32 thought i would feel odd, but because the others on the coach were so lovely I was able to spend time with my folks but also with others on the bus having a good natter! The hotel was lovely and it felt like we were really spoilt rather than a hotel on the motorway which I’ve had when going on a trip before. I would really recommend this company. I just wish I had my own Richard in normal life!!

First time to Paris & first time with Riviera. Both excellent. Suzanne our guide was very informative. We stayed at the IBIS in Bercy Village. A comfortable, clean, quiet hotel, great as a base to explore Paris from. Metro station, Cour St-Emilion, just across the road. Adequate choice at the continental breakfast & plenty of places to eat in Bercy Village. We went to Chez Bruno twice. Thanks again to Suzanne & Riviera.
Review by KATH DAWSON on 19 March 2013
Stayed at the Ibis in Bercy village which is basic but adequate and the location is great for both local shops and restaurants and ease of travel into the centre of Paris. All travel and transfer arrangements were faultless and the tour itself was a great mix of organised visits and free time. Suzanne the tour guide was very knowledgeable, an excellent communicator and went the extra mile to make our trip successful. She has clearly not done the normal tour guide training course which produces condescending, trite and irritating behaviour. Please pass on our thanks. This was our second Riviera trip, following an equally great visit to Bruges. Perhaps something long haul, next time.

My friend and I have just returned from our trip to Paris with Riviera Travel. As it was our first visit to this City we thought it would be a good idea to go on an organised trip and we were so pleased we did. We have now fallen in love with Paris and can’t wait to return. This was, without doubt, down to our wonderful tour guide Andy. His enthusiasm and love for this City was clearly apparent and has now rubbed off on us! It was like having a living, breathing encyclopedia accompanying you. His knowledge was amazing but he was also very friendly and helpful throughout the whole trip.

We have just returned from our first experience of travelling with you. We were on the Paris tour and it was absolutely marvellous. We got the 08:30 Newcastle to Kings Cross train to join the Eurostar to Paris. Whilst on the Eurostar our Tour Manger, Diane, introduced herself, to my surprise as I didn’t realise the whole coach full of travellers were on the same tour, to let us all know what would be happening on our arrival. Diane was an excellent advertisement for Riviera Travel. She was really nice, always happy, smiling, pleasant, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. She really made the whole experience very enjoyable. The organised tours were great and, whilst I had no preconceived ideas of what to expect, both my wife and I, really enjoyed all of them. This was only our second visit to Paris and, having done everything independently last year we thought what we did was satisfying. However this was much, much better and having experienced Riviera Travel’s expertise we will definitely be booking further tours, Bruges next we think. The hotel was good, the coach transport and drivers were also great. All visits and departures were great, never once did we experience a late departure. We hope to see Diane again. Great value for money. Don’t know how you do it really but keep it going and see you soon.

Fantastic organisation, brilliant tour guide, Libby, clean friendly hotel, Ibis Bercy Village, and great coaches and drivers. Timing to perfection all through our time there and packed in so much in such a short space of time. Good blend or organised trips and free time to explore - a perfect combination for a first-timer in Paris. First thing to do now is look at booking our next Riviera trip…...........................think Rhine tour and Switzerland is favourite!!! Would HIGHLY recommend Riviera to anyone thinking of taking a trip - anywhere! We have just arrived back from our Paris tour where we had a brilliant time. We were very pleased with the Hotel Mercure at Porte de St Cloud where our room not only had a huge double bed but a mini fridge and a kettle with tea and coffee provided in sachets. Continental breakfast was available between 7.30 - 9.00am in a room reserved for Riviera travellers.
Our Tour Manager was Anette, who introduced herself to us in the carriage on the Eurostar where we were surprised to learn that the rest of the travellers in our coach were part of our travel party. She gave us some information during the journey and informed us where we were all to wait once we arrived in Paris so we could walk to the coach together, which was waiting to take us to the hotel.
Anette was very friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgeable and she even arranged to meet everybody on the first evening to show us the local area so we could get our bearings and find the local restaurants, Metro station etc. This was very helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed the excursions, especially Paris by night, and found them varied and interesting and all our party got on very well together. We also enjoyed the optional River Seine trip but the boat was very full as several coaches of tourists had arrived together. Anette met us off the boat and offered to escort any from our party back to the hotel on the Metro if they so wished, otherwise we were free to explore Paris.
This was our first experience of travelling with a tour company and we cannot recommend Riviera Travel highly enough. We were even planning our next trip whilst still enjoying Paris and we hope to see Anette again on our future trips.

We have just returned from our first trip with your company and it will not be our last. The whole experience was totally enjoyable. Our guide Michelle was extremely helpful and made the whole weekend a joy. Although it was a short break, we saw and experienced so many sights of Paris. Because of the Paris marathon the itinerary was altered to visit Versailles before the trip around Paris and looking at the crowds of people who were arriving at the Chateau as we were leaving, I think that was the best way of arranging the morning, this also meant that once we were in back in the centre those of the group who wished to do their own thing had more time available. The whole weekend was very relaxed and enabled the group to take part in the arranged activities or were able to see sights or museums on their own. Definitely my type of group holiday.

We’ve just returned from a 4 day trip staying in the Hotel Mercure Porte de St Cloud - a modern, clean and comfortable hotel, which catered more than adequately for our needs. Drinks in the hotel bar were pricey but this was to be expected. There were plenty of good places to eat within a few minutes walk as was the Metro, which was surprisingly easy to use. Our tour guide was Joanna who was a mine of information and was extremely helpful. The organisation of this trip was fantastic from start to finish and the trips and free time were very well balanced. Many thanks Riviera for a wonderful break - we will certainly be travelling with you again.

This was our third trip with Riviera. Everything ran smoothly with Kay as our tour mamager. The hotel Mercure at St. Cloud was clean, efficient and close to the Metro and Bus terminus. The trips were excellent and I personally saw more of Paris than in previous visits. Paris by night was a wonderful way to conclude. Well Done Riviera! - but then we are already looking at our next adventure with you.

Super trip with excellent organisation. Tour guide Andy was always there to help and entertain us. He had an in depth knowledge of Paris. Hotel Ibis in Bercy Village clean, near the Metro in a bustling and lively area. Breakfast really good and service polite and efficient. Well done Riviera Travel you made it so easy for us to have a great trip.
Review by Ann Gremin on 23 April 2013
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Don’t think we could have seen or done more. It was most efficiently run. We know we couldn’t have achieved so much if we’d done the trip independently. Our travelling companions were a lovely group, the different drivers amazing and Cass our guide was wonderful. She was caring, organised, knowledgeable and fun. What more could we ask? Thank you Cass and thank you Riviera. Must say too that we found it excellent value for money.

Thank you Riveria and especially Diane. We had a lovely time made more enjoyable by Diane whose knowledge made it an experience we will remember for a long time to come. Our thanks also go to the coach operators for a considerate sevice.

We had a terrific time in Paris; Andy was great, the Ibis was very well situated and we came home feeling as if we had a real feel for the city. Nothing was too much trouble for Andy or the staff in the Ibis. We will definitely use Riviera again! My only regret is that you do not do a similar tour to Amsterdam; hopefully you will in the future maybe?
Review by Jean Barlow on 25 April 2013
Our first trip with Riviera more than lived up to expectations. The organisation was faultless from booking to returning home. Our guide, Cass, was brilliant, very friendly well organised and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all the trips and the hotel (Mercure St Cloud) was better than we expected from some of the reviews we had read. The room was fine and the breakfast adequate with plenty of eating places in the vicinity. Thanks Riviera we’ll be seeing you again.
Review by Alan Robinson on 29 April 2013
Just returned from our first tour with Riviera. We had heard that Riviera gave good value for money and, more importantly, the whole experience would be stress-free and enjoyable, and this proved to be the case. From the moment we were met and eventually returned to St Pancras, everything went smoothly and without hitch. In addition to the wonders of Paris, we had the most amazing tour manager - Angus! Very knowlegeable and informative with lots of “stories” for each situation - he is a Riviera treasure.
Review by Carol & David Foster on 29 April 2013
This was the second Riviera tour I have taken with my friend, the first to Brugge. We have thoroughly enjoyed both. The travel to and from Paris went like clockwork. The hotel was very friendly and comfortable. I have written mainly to compliment out Tour Guide Jonathan. He was excellent throughout, his knowledge of Paris was fantastic and even when one of our tours was upscuttled by the coach refusing to start he was very calm and resolved our dilemma at once. He helped make the ‘Paris experience ’ very very memorable.
Review by susan pringle on 30 April 2013
Having just returned from a short break in Paris we found it far exceeded our expectations, the organisation by Riviera was first class. Having being met by Angus our tour guide on Eurostar, from our first introduction we found him most courteous and with a vast knowledge of Paris. A great ambassador to Riviera. We stayed at the hotel Mercure St Cloud which was good, clean and well located. The itinerary listed was full and carried out to perfection. Our only comment is that we were looking forward to seeing inside the palace of Versailles but faced with long queues, just waiting for tickets would leave insufficient time to see inside. We feel that had we been notified prior to leaving the UK, then maybe pre-booked tickets could have been arranged, as was done for the river cruse (food for thought maybe!! ). Our overall opinion of this holiday still remains good and many thanks to the full team at Riviera for excellent organisation, we will be travelling with you again and recommend you to anyone wishing to travel with you . Thank you Riviera

Thanks to Keith our Guide for a wonderful and very full tour of Paris. But still we had plenty of time to look around for ourselves and try some excellent restaurants. We enjoyed it enormously and it all went without a hitch. It is the first time we have ever been on an organised Tour, but I am sure we will be doing it again. Thank you.

Just returned from a long weekend in Paris with Riviera. Had a marvelous time. Anette our tour guide was exceptional. She was well informed, helpful and sensitive to individual needs. I will be booking again with Riviera, perhaps for a longer break this time. I would highly recommend this company.

My first trip with Riviera and I am going to book another hopefully later this year. Our guide Keith was fantastic. Every aspect of the trip was very well planned. Hotel Ibis was excellent, in fact I have no complaints whatsoever. I am saving for the next trip.

This was our first trip with Riviera and we were really impressed how well it was all organised from arriving at Leicester rail station to our return to St Pancras. Our guide Richard was great, very knowledgeable, friendly and always very helpful, he really made sure we had a great time. We stayed at the Mercure in Porte St Cloud, very clean, good beds and quite near the bus and Metro stops, which were great fun to use. Thoroughly enjoyed the tours and the cabaret evening (definitely French!) and we liked the Eurostar, fast and comfortable. We’ll be booking again soon with Riviera.
Review by Jeremy Braker on 2 May 2013
We have travelled and stayed in Paris quite a few times, but had not been there for 10 years. My husband’s 84 year old mother wanted to travel to Paris by Eurostar, so we took her on your tour. We were a bit worried as she has mobility problems, and to be honest, we were not expecting too much from a tour of a place we had been to before.
The trip exceeded expectations. Jonathan, the Tour guide, was helpful and informative, taking us to parts of Paris we had not visited before. His know-how and information made for a very enjoyable trip. He always made sure we knew where we were to be picked up and was clear in his instructions, he also reassured my mother in law that her mobility was not a problem. She thoroughly enjoyed her trip, as did we. Could you forward this to Jonathon and say thank you.

We thoroughly enjoyed this our fourth trip with Riviera. Attention to detail seems to be the hallmark. It was a very well thought-out programme. We feel lucky to have had Andy as our guide. He was kind and attentive throughout, was a fount of knowledge and gave us many tips to help us enjoy a carefree visit. The highlight has to be the Paradis Latin Caberet! There was something for everyone and we particularly appreciated the classically highly trained dancers performing a brief version of Romeo and Juliet but who were equally skilled in modern dance in all its forms. We are looking forward to the River Cruise booked with Riviera in September!

Well done Riviera we had a great few days in Paris. We stayed at the Ibis Bercy Village which was in a good, safe location near the Metro and restaurants. The hotel was basic and clean with a good selection for the continental breakfast, all you need. I cannot praise our tour guide Andy too highly, the organisation was impeccable, he was friendly, helpful and very informative about everywhere we went with loads of local bits of information as well. A good time was had by all.

We had a wonderful trip to Paris with Riviera Travel. The Timotel in Clichy is not in the most fashionable area of Paris, but the hotel and staff were first class, with the Metro Station was right outside, making it easy to get into the City. The excursions were well planned, and equally well timed. The weather was kind to us, which made each day a pleasure, but what made this short break perfect, was our Tour Guide, Viv. She was 100% in every way, helpful, charming, knowledgeable and on hand every minute of the way. Paris is a huge city, and if you are not familiar with its geography, a good Tour Guide is essential, Viv is just that. We will return to Paris in the near future, and the bonus would be, if we were lucky enough to have the same Guide.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 4-day trip last weekend to Paris and Versailles.
We especially want to commend our guide, ANDY. (We don’t have his surname.) All of the holiday-makers on the coach agreed that his knowledge was phenomenal and that he was a real professional - the best guide we have ever had! We would be extremely grateful if you would let him know how impressed we were and how grateful we were for his guidance and ideas; he was very efficient and methodical. He was absolutely brilliant! Many thanks.

We have just had our first experience of Riviera Travel’s services to Paris on Eurostar and we were not disappointed. We booked a regional rail connection from Exeter St Davids to Paddington and then to St Pancras. All journeys were on time and we found the Eurostar extremely comfortable and quiet. We were met at Gare du Nord by Jonathan and taken to our hotel, Ibis Alesia in Montparnasse. Our scheduled trips were well arranged and most enjoyable thanks to Jonathan and his expert knowledge of the city, The gardens at Versailles were a delight as was the tour of Paris by night. Our 4-day break proved to be everything we had imagined and more. We would have no hesitation in recommending your travel services and hopefully using them ourselves on future occasions.

Our second trip with Riviera and our second success with Riviera. This one was to celebrate a ‘significant’ birthday for my wife. I don’t think we could have made a better choice. The Ibis hotel in Montparnasse was fine with very helpful staff. Our tour manager, Suzan was a wealth of knowledge, both about the scheduled trips and just about anything else she was asked. The Eurostar experience added to the enjoyment and even here, Suzan was passing up and down the carriage ensuring everyone was all right. So thank you again, your organisation is first class, from the initial booking, paperwork and the sheer professionalism of your tour manager in making the whole trip so enjoyable.
Review by Roy Williams on 22 May 2013
I booked this trip for my wife’s early retirement, who was unaware where we were going till we arrived at St Pancras. Second to none were the train arrangements, times, reserved seating etc. Jonathan was an excellent tour gude with his information about Paris and the places of interest we had on the excursions. We would recommend Riviera travel and Paris to anyone.

We thought that it only right that we send a review of the recent trip we made over to Paris with your travel company. It is the first time that we have travelled with Riviera Travel, but we were so pleased that we did. From booking the holiday to returning home again was so well organised that we can highly recommend to any one using your services. The tour guide that we had ‘Andy’ was so knowledgeable, informative and interesting that he is more than just an asset to your company. He went out of his way to please everyone and his insite was second to none, right down to advising where was a good place to dine for whatever budget. (We were the first of about 12 of our party to turn up at one of his recommendations on our last night). The hotel was basic, but clean and well run. The ‘continental’ breakfast was more than enough and far from meagre in the selection of food from fresh fruit to croissant to cheeses, hams and baguettes etc. We will definitely be back…....

We recently returned home after our trip to London & Paris. While in Paris we took your 4 day tour. The tour was wonderful & we want to especially commend our tour guide, Andy Gourlay. Andy was extremely gracious, very knowledgeable & his “personal tips” & “safety tips” proved to be very beneficial. Andy went out of his way to meet all our needs & helped us in every way possible. We have traveled a great deal & Andy is one of the two best tour guides we ever encountered. Our compliments to you & to Andy.

My daughter and I have just returned from a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Paris with Riviera using Eurostar - so convenient when visiting Paris. The various scheduled trips were good value, and we also used the ‘free time’ to do a lot of sightseeing and generally enjoying the city. We found a very good inexpensive vegetarian restaurant near Notre Dame, and the best felafels in a buzzing restaurant in the Jewish quarter. Our guide Andy was excellent, and a full of useful (and sometimes quite obscure!) information. Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Recently went to Paris on a four day tour and I would like to say how much we all enjoyed it. This was our first time with Riviera and I cannot praise the tour guide (Richard) enough. He certainly ‘‘made’’ the holiday. We would not have seen as much as we did if we were on our own. We also would recommend taking in the Paradis Latin show. The food, wine and the show were very good. We will certainly use the company again and have already recommended the tours to friends.

We have just had our first experience of Riviera Travel’s services on a short break to Paris. Everything ran smoothly Suzan our tour guide looked after us all the way through the tour. We stayed at the Ibis Alesia in Montparnasse, which was convenient for the Metro. Bedrooms were clean. No tea making facilities but we understood that this is normal for Paris. Breakfasts more than adequate although having to eat at a set time was a little disappointing. Our scheduled trips were well arranged and most enjoyable thanks to Suzan and her knowledge of the city. Her enthusiasm for Paris added to the enjoyment on the trips. The gardens at Versailles were a delight as was the tour of Paris by night. The Eiffel Tower sparkled at 11pm as promised by Suzan. We spent our free time dipping into the Louvre, L’Arc de Triomphe, Champs d’Elysee, Sacre Coeur and the Latin Quarter and felt that the break had given us a good insight into Paris. An intense but very enjoyable break. We would certainly use Riveira again and also would like to return to Paris.

We want to let you know how much we enjoyed our visit to Paris, with Paul. Pam had been to Paris several times before, but despite having travelled extensively, I had never been there before. We always pack a lot into holidays, and are usually quite independent. We were delighted that your itinerary gave us the opportunity to see so much, and yet retain time and freedom to do our own thing. I even managed to take part in the Velib24 cycle charity ride on the Champs Elysee and watching the Tour de France finish will mean so much more in the future! We saw such a lot, and did so much in a short time. The Ibis at Bercy Village is in a great location, and so easy to access the Metro. Thanks again for organising such a valuable trip, and please pass our appreciation to Paul for making the visit such a pleasure.

We recently took a tour of Paris 7th June with Andy as the tour Manager and then a holiday to Sorrento on the 21st June with Jenny as the tour manager. We should like to complement Riviera on how well managed all the prior bookings were and also how well both holidays were organised and there ‘smooth’ running. Both Tour Managers were excellent and with the knowledge of their respective areas and tips they passed on was really the ‘icing on the cake’ for the holidays. We would certainly recommend Riviera as a holiday company that provide excellent holidays

Paris by Eurostar June 2013 Spent a very enjoyable weekend in Paris. Travel by Eurostar was excellent. Tour Guide Jonathon was brilliant - very knowledgeable with a quirky style. Hotel Mercure was four star and situated close to metro & bus station. My first tourist visit to the city (been here on business several times) so the daytime, nighttime and river excursions were just what I wanted. Weather so good I did not go inside any of the museums, which may mean a return visit. Paradis Latin dinner spectacular was really good fun and very enjoyable with ‘our’ group (and reasonably priced when compared to one dinner I had). Great value.

Having never been on a package holiday for over 45 years and wishing to take my 11 year old granddaughter “abroad” as a birthday treat, I chose Riviera as having a tour guide to take the strain. From booking online right through to arriving back home I could not have been happier with the service. Our guide, Suzanne was fantastic, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Paris and a willingness to help which was beyond compare. Everything went smoothly and even a security alert and delay were taken in her stride. I will certainly be checking Riviera’s brochure for other rail holidays for my husband and me for next year before any other, and will hopefully be able to find a suitable break. Many thanks again.

His knowledge of Paris and all things French is phenomenal from the names, history, reasons for naming etc. Also his knowledge of so many subjects such as history, art, architecture, religion etc made our trip very interesting and memorable. He was also very attentive throughout our trip to answer questions and to ensure everything went well. Our guide for the tour was Diane who was absolutely amazing with great knowledge of the city, was so friendly and nothing was a bother to her! The entire tour was organised perfectly even with the Tour de France causing disruption to travel around the city. Considering the trip only consisted of 4 days including travelling, we managed to see so much of the city including parts that we would not have seen on our own like the Paradis Latin which was an amazing experience! Diane also made great recommendations on what to do or restaurants to visit in our free time. Thank you so much Riviera, we would definitely recommend the company and use you again for our future holidays.

Hi everyone at Riviera! Just a little note to say thankyou very much to everyone at Riviera Travel. We have just returned from the short break to Paris, never before using Riviera. We were both very pleased with all aspects of our holiday from the booking to the tour manager, “Cass” who had it “just right”, informing us of everything we needed to know, being polite, clear to understand and friendly. We liked the freedom to either go on the tours or do our own thing, we combined both and took ourselves off to Eiffel Tower (we walked from the Mercure Paris hotel to the Tower and back again - getting in our exercise! and walking up the first section of the Tower) - See photo attached. We will certainly consider booking with you again, and as we will both be celebrating our 60th birthday next year, will see what is on offer, we quite fancy a Cruise as we’ve never experienced one before, but one that sails into Valletta, in Malta harbour. Anyway, thank you all once again for a fabulous (if hot) time.

It was a very pleasant experience and the service we received from yourselves was second to none. The staff in the office/call centre were always very efficient and helpful with no delays in dealing with any queries. In particular I would like to mention Jonathan Lane the tour guide. Your tour guide, Cassandra, did a brilliant job and made our holiday a memorable one, we would certainly recommend your Company to our friends. Well done!

I am writing to say how hugely impressed I was with the short break my daughter and I have just taken with you. The hotel was exactly as expected – basic but clean and all staff very helpful. The inclusive trips were also fantastic and the overall holiday was excellent value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your company and to book with you again. I’d like to say a special thank you to our tour guide, Andy. What a thoroughly nice and genuine man – full of interesting facts and figure, and incredibly knowledgeable. He is a real credit to Riviera Travel. With kind regards

We had a very enjoyable time. This was largely due to our guide Andy. His professionalism was exemplary. His knowledge of Paris knew no bounds. His helpful hints probably saved us from robbery and whatever else could have been thrown at us. I am amazed that so much could have been packed into this break. Even the soaring temperatures didn’t stop us from getting out there and doing everything. He is a historian/raconteur/linguist/ nanny all rolled into one. You are extremely lucky to have him.

My daughter and I have just returned yesterday from a weekend in Paris with your company. I would like to let you know that we had a wonderful time mainly due to the excellent customer service given by Keith our tour guide (although the fabulous weather we had helped a bit too). Keith’s knowledge of the places we visited and passed through was excellent and his good humour and friendly personality made the trips a real pleasure. In these days when customer service can be anything but it was refreshing to meet someone with an obvious pride in his work and genuine care and concern for his customers. He is an excellent ambassador for your company and you should be proud to have him on your team. Best Wishes

I just wanted to drop you an email to say how much my daughter and I enjoyed our trip to Paris last month, and how impressed we were with the quality of the holiday and the care we were shown. From booking the holiday online to alighting from the Eurostar at St Pancras on our return, every step of the way was made very easy and pleasurable. I’d also like to thank Emma who was very helpful and courteous on the phone when I called regarding a query about the Eurostar times the day before we departed. We were very impressed indeed by your guide, Andy, who showed us the utmost courtesy, good humour, patience, care and goodwill throughout our entire holiday. I also think it was a great idea to have him travel and stay with us throughout the whole trip. Add to that his encyclopedic and fascinating knowledge of Paris (and many other things!), tips and advice on everything from buying Metro tickets to avoiding the ‘Rom girls’(!), his advice on places to visit and how to get there, I was very impressed. I also had a very sociable and fascinating chat with Andy on the way back about our mutual interest in music and various other subjects as we travelled back to London! My daughter and I feel we really got the most we could out of Paris in the short time we had and the holiday has left a lasting impression on us both. All in all the whole experience represented excellent value for money. I have already recommended you to friends and would certainly choose Riviera again for my next city break. I shall be looking at your site again when thinking about our next holiday. So thank you everyone at Riviera, and please do pass on my thanks again to Andy for all his help and advice during the trip.

Good evening, I booked a short holiday to Paris with you for myself and my granddaughter. We had two day in London before our visit to Paris and one day after, returning home to Scotland this evening. Our holiday with Riviera was outstanding and I will treasure the memories of seeing my granddaughter’s first sights of Paris. Everything was well organised from boarding the Eurostar to disembarking. Our tour manager was Richard who is a star, nothing was to much trouble and was often heard to say “not a problem”. Although we were to be met at the train station in Paris and left there, Richard came and greeted us on the train going and was on the platform helping us with our cases when we arrived back in London. Superb thank you

I’d like to say a big thank you to all involved in the organisation behind the trip to Paris! It was a wonderful introduction to Riviera Travel; everything was evidently very well thought out, planned and executed. The knowledge of our guide, Florence, was awe-inspiring and added immensely to the enjoyment of the weekend. I shall look forward to taking more holidays with your company in future, and would recommend anyone wondering about making a booking to do it - do it now!! If your experience mirrors my own, you simply will not regret it.

My Granddad (86) and I (25) have just had a fantastic long weekend in Paris with Riviera. We enjoyed great company, fantastic scenes, and a brilliantly structured-but-flexible schedule. The fact that we could head off on our own or integrate with the rest of the group provided the perfect setup, and we met some lovely people to share those experiences with. Our tour guide, Andy, made the whole experience particularly special. He herded the cats with aplomb and ease, and was a repository of knowledge throughout the weekend with incredible local insight. He was also exceptionally attentive to our needs and those of the rest of the group, and has a great way with all sorts of people; from the families to the romantic couples, from a guy in his mid-20s to his Granddad in his mid-80s! Great holiday; great tour; great tour guide. Cheers again Andy!

We would all just like to say how much we enjoyed our trip to Paris recently. Our tour manager was Keith and he made our weekend in Paris run smoothly and efficiently; we saw so much and learnt so much about Paris due to Keiths knowledge and the excellent scheduled itinery. Keith was polite, attentive, knowledgeable and completely professional throughout the weekend and this made the trip a pleasure to be on and highly relaxing and well organised. We have never been on an escorted trip until now and can confidently say we were very impressed with Riviera from start to finish and look forward to booking with them again.

Dear Riviera Travel, Our party of 6 has just thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Paris by Eurostar. We all feel it necessary to compliment the itinerary which provided the perfect balance of organised excursions, optional excursions and free time within our short stay. The whole experience was pulled together by your representative, Richard, who made the whole ‘thing’ work through his knowledge, whit, availability and attention to detail at all times. All of this provided members of the party with extreme confidence in Richard to be ‘a friend’ to whom we could approach and trust. Richard treated all members of the group in the same manner so that nobody could even think that he was favoring any particular individual or particular party within the group. This demonstrated complete professionalism on his part and we would think that his style and approach as the Representative of Riviera Travel can only enhance your company’s reputation and hopefully lead to further opportunities for future bookings. Thank You Richard, Thank you Riviera Travel, Thank You Radio Times for drawing attention to this opportunity and Thank You to the number 22 and 72 bus routes for being so entertaining through Richard during his enjoyable commentaries. Yours sincerely, Peter Duce, on Behalf of; Alma Tickle, Mr and Mrs LeBrun and Mr and Mrs Chaloner.

Wanted to say what a great time we had in Paris this weekend on your Eurostar trip. Superbly organised, whilst still being flexible in terms of the excursions. We were surprised, and happy, to find our rep Cass on the Eurostar with us from the UK. Cass was excellent, very knowledgeable and giving everyone the personalised tips they needed. The hotel Ibis Bercy Village was a fabulous choice too. All in all, a great fantastic first taste of Paris, and would thoroughly recommend it.

I have just returned with my wife and four other friends from one of your Paris tours, it was extremely good and very enjoyable. The highlight of the trip was not Paris, as you might think, but our tour guide Richard, he is without doubt the best guide I have ever come across. His knowledge of Paris (and everywhere else it seemed) and the manner in which he informed the whole group was absolutely brilliant. His dry sense of humour added to his commentary. Also the assistance he gave to us helped us make the most of our free time. He is exceptional, a true professional and a real credit to your company and would be the main reason I might book another excursion with Riviera Travel.

An excellent trip from start to finish. Met on the train by tour guide Diane who looked after our party from train to hotel, on each excursion and train home. Diane had a wealth of historic knowledge, information, hints on using the metro/bus transport and warnings of possible entrapment’s targeting tourist. Diane is a credit to the company and made our trip all the more enjoyable. The excursions were very interesting, visiting beautiful and astonishing land marks. The Hotel Mercure was lovely and a very comfortable place to stay.

Just a comment about our recent visit to Paris with Riviera. We found the experience from start to finish, as usual very well organised and most enjoyable. The tour guide called ‘Cass’ was, in our opinion, exemplary; she added so much to the holiday. Her manner was perfect for the job, her knowledge first class and her helpfulness was really appreciated certainly regarding our daughter’s lost mobile phone- which she went out of her way to find! No wonder your company is so popular. Long may it continue - well done! Yours faithfully Mr & Mrs Reynolds & Helen

Just returned from a marvellous holiday to Paris, every aspect of which was excellent. Special mention for our guide, Suzanne, who could not have been better. Not only was she very receptive to our requests etc, but she was also notably proactive - speaking to us all individually on a number of occasions to ask if we needed any advice etc.

We have just returned from your break to Paris and had a wonderful 4 days. Our Tour Manager, Diane was well informed, witty and could not have done more to make our stay pleasant. The hotel was of a high standard and the excursions well planned and of interest, especially to our son who had not seen Paris before. There was also just enough time to explore on our own and Diane was always there to give us the best advice on what we wanted to do. My only slight criticism was that we would have preferred a hotel a little more central so that we could have walked to some of the places we wished to visit. We will assuredly be booking with Riviera again in the future, who we feel have the best Tour Managers we have experienced and are very good value for money.

Arrived back 20/08 from Paris tour, our guide was Richard who was absolutely excellent, the hotel (Timhotel) was a very good hotel I thought with the staff very helpful when needed. The hotel is just a bus ride (74) from the centre of Paris (Hotel D’Ville). My favourite I think would be the Versailles Gardens with classical music in the background. The tour I would say is good value for money and I would book with Riviera again this being my first experience. I met some nice people and had a really good time.

My family and I have just returned from a long weekend break in Paris. Our son and daughter accompanied us along with our five year old grandaughter. I was slightly concerned about taking a five year old but needn’t have worried, she was fine. We were met on the train by our tour guide, Suzanne, who was excellent with her knowledge of the city, her entertaining and charming manner and her ability to keep us from getting lost and avoiding any of the hazards that can befall you in a large and busy city. All in all she made our holiday and is a credit to Riviera travel. We stayed at The Mercure Hotel at Porte de St. Cloude, which was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast, although not exciting, was more than adequate and the breakfast room spacious and comfortable. The staff were attentive and helpful on the occasions when needed. Although the restaurant was shut over the weekend we did have some food from the bar which was excellent. I can thoroughly recommend their omlettes. This is our second holiday with Riviera Travel and I would certainly use your services again, the organisation from start to finish was first class.

Just returned from our first organised tour to Paris. Firstly, a big thank you to our Guide Libbi who shared her excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for Paris. The first things to impress were the outward and return travel arrangements - reserved seats on the Regional rail-link to London and on Eurostar. We were accompanied by Libbi on both the outward and return leg to from London to Paris. The included organised trips were very enjoyable and gave a comprehensive taste of the City and Versailles. The Hotel Mercure at Port St Cloud was a really good choice -modern, comfortable, and convenient for reaching the centre of Paris within 20 minutes or so. Great value for money with an itinerary that avoided wasted time and covered all the essentials for an enjoyable holiday.

I have just returned from your Paris tour. All the travel arrangements were perfect, the standard of the hotel was fine except it was away from the mainstream and the hotel prices for let’s say two gins and tonic 18.80 euros so very few people used their bar. The hotel reception staff were very helpful and the guided us to the AUBERGE AVEYRONNAISE restaurant on the RUE Gabriel-Lame`. Our tour guide Annette was excellent, helpful, informative, and overall very professional and an excellent ambassador for you company. Finally it would be wrong not to mention your excellent girls in head office first class. I would definitely use Riviera Travel again WELL DONE ALL OF YOU and thank you for an excellent holiday.

I would just like to say that my mum and myself had a fantastic trip to Paris with Riviera. We stayed at the Ibis Alesia Montparnasse where the rooms were very comfortable, good choice of breakfast and the hotel staff were exceptional, especially the reception staff in relation to mum’s medication. Our tour guide, Andy, met us on the Eurostar and boy is he knowledgeable! Thoroughly enjoyed the history lesson, the tips regarding sightseeing and the way he paid attention to traveller’s needs. He probably won’t see this review, as in his words “I’m a bit of a luddite”, but please pass on our regards. This was a present for my mum’s 70th birthday and she fell in love with Paris. This was a great short break in Paris. Richard, our guide, has a great in-depth knowledge of Paris and a unique and interesting way of presenting it. Richard went to considerable lengths to look after his clients interests. The Timotel, Boulevard Berthier, is comfortable and is well situated for access to Paris as it is only 50 yards from Metro line 13 and two city bus routes. The hotel restaurant serves an excellent buffet style continental breakfast. Evening meals were very good and reasonably priced but from a rather limited menu. There are many restaurants within a five minute walk. All the arrangements happened as planned and we had a good overall view of Paris in the three days, but still leaving us time for individual adventures. The travel arrangements were impeccable over both journeys. Downsides - none. Will we do it again? Yes.

First time with Riviera Travel, it will not be our last. From getting on at Newcastle Central Station, until we arrived at our holiday was ” plain sailing”. Our guild Flo was excellent, she spoke great English & had loads & loads of knowledge of Paris. No hard sell about extra outing to a show or a boat ride, which we did and were not disappointed. Would love to do it again, but we are thinking of somewhere new, but with Riviera Travel. Well done everyone, but special thanks to Flo for making our weekend extra special.

Very impressed with the organisation and structure of this short break. My first visit to Paris and it was a great introduction. As I wrote up my travel journal at home I realised just how much I had seen in a short time. The introductory tour on the first morning was excellent to get a feel of how Paris is laid out, took in all the main sights and gave me an idea of what I wanted to go back to. Our Guide, Florence, was lovely and really helped to smooth the way. As a single traveller of 60+ this was the perfect combination of organised bits and plenty of free time to follow individual interests. Great flexibility e.g. I was able to stay on at Versailles and see as much as I wanted then return to the hotel on the local train. My group stayed at the Mercure hotel at Porte de St Cloud, which was comfortable and convenient for restaurants and metro into central Paris - wonderful, authentically French restaurant, Les Caves Angevines, in the little square behind the main square near the hotel, well worth finding. Now I want to go back, and would consider booking the same trip for the ease of transport and hotel, but then do my own thing rather than repeating the guided tours - but with the safety net of a tour guide for information and emergencies. A brilliant short break which I would recommend without reservation.

Our special thanks for making this trip extra special must surely go to Jonathon Lane, our Tour Guide. His knowledge of Paris, historical information, safety facts and his fabulous sense of humour was certainly the icing on the cake. We all felt very much looked after. Just got back from our first trip with Riviera and cannot praise it high enough. We stayed at the hotel Mercure and the staff were very friendly and helpful and it was very clean. The trips were very good and you got to see all the main sights of Paris as well as some of the sights you might not think of. I know he won’t see this being a self confessed Luddite but our tour guide Andy was very friendly and knowledgeable and was able to recommend a fantastic restaurant as we were on honeymoon and wanted to eat somewhere special so also want to say a big thank you to him. I would like to thank you for a most enjoyable trip to Paris returning yesterday. We stayed at the Mercure Hotel which we found to be excellent. The rooms were pleasant, clean and we had excellent maid service. Breakfast was also good, we had a problem on the second day, not the hotels fault, a new party had arrived (not riviera) and had gone to the wrong breakfast room. The hotel in a way of an apology, invited us to drinks on the terrace in the evening, very pleasant and top marks for your reps for fighting our corner. Our guide for the weekend was Viv, please thank her for her excellent service and VERY good commentary. I had a problem as several months ago I broke my leg and so had a little mobility problem, she was very kind and helpful. Also your booking staff were most helpful. I would most certainly look to travel with your company again.

A good hotel not far from the centre enabled us to make the most of our time there. Special mention must be made of Andy our tireless guide. Seemingly always there when needed, he was ready to help and to ensure that all went well. We imagine that many Parisians would be grateful for his knowledge of their city. As you will see, we returned last Tuesday from our short trip to Paris and I am writing to say how much we enjoyed it and how impressed we were with your organisation of events and selection of a programme. From the moment we boarded Eurostar where your Tour Manager, Paul, introduced himself to everyone to getting on again at Gard du Nord, events ran like clockwork. We were particularly impressed with Paul. His attention to detail – even offering an orientation walk around the area shortly after we arrived in the hotel – and his knowledge of the city contributed a great deal to our enjoyment of the holiday. We were accompanied by my sister-in-law and her husband from NZ who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on the Saturday and Paul’s walk around enabled us to find a first rate restaurant in which to celebrate the event that evening. The hotel was well situated and very comfortable and the inclusive tours that you ran were excellent and enabled us to see all of the major sights in a short time. It was not Riviera’s fault that the boat trip was somewhat spoiled by the teeming rain that kept everyone inside but it was still good to be able to see some of the city from the water. The other tours, including Versailles, Paris by night, City tour and Montmartre each gave everyone a very good idea of the layout of the City and whetted appetites for a return. We have been to Paris before – our visitors had not – but did not know the Alecia area so were treated to somewhere new which was nice. Kind regards Geoff Manning

We have just returned from the most amazing short break in Paris with Tour Manager Paul Beard. What a wonderful four days he gave us in this wonderful City. Not only did he tell us everything we would wish to know but he encouraged us to go and see Paris for ourselves and try the RER trains and trams as well as the Metro. We booked this holiday as we had never been to Paris before and thought it would be ideal to have someone “show us the ropes”. What Paul has achieved in four days has been unbelievable and we are so hooked on the idea of returning very soon and will probably take his advice and travel to and from Paris with your company, stay in the Hotel but then do our own exploring. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience and look after Paul as he is a little bit special.

We enjoyed our few days in Paris, our tour guide Mark was very helpful and informative, we got to visit a lot of places on our own and with group so was nice to have a mix of things to do, the river cruise was lovely, the hotel we stayed in was very nice and had a decent selection of food on offer for breakfast. All in all very happy with our trip and will definitely use Riviera again for any future holiday bookings.

We have just returned from a wonderful short break in Paris led by your excellent Tour Manager Suzan. We had an unforgettable four days in this wonderful city. Not only was Suzan really informative, telling us everything we needed know about the history and culture of Paris (and more) but she really went out of her way to encourage us to go and explore Paris for ourselves in our spare time and experience the Metro system. We booked this holiday to celebrate our wedding anniversary and, as neither of us had been to Paris before, we thought it would be a good idea to go on an organised trip with a reputable company and have the services of a guide. Well, Suzan was so good and her advice so well given that we will no doubt visit Paris in the future! The hotel was of a very good standard and the organisation of the trip exemplary. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful first experience of Paris - we will definitely use your company again for a city break - keep up the good work and make sure you take care of Suzan - she is a real asset to Riviera Holidays!

Our first trip to Paris (Mum and student daughter) and we had a fabulous time! It was extremely well planned with a good balance of organised sightseeing tours and free time to spend as we pleased. A big thank you to Mark who was an excellent tour guide, always helpful and informative and most solicitous of everyone’s welfare. The hotel was ideal, very comfortable and with plentiful and delicious breakfasts. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Riviera to friends and family and look forward to booking with you again.

Just returned from Paris and we had a really great time. We have traveled independently up til now this was our first organised break so we were not sure what to expect. The travel arrangements went smoothly and our guide Andy met us on the Eurostar. We thoroughly enjoyed all the trips and they were made all the more interesting and entertaining by our excellent tour guide Andy. He was able to give such an insight into Paris and its history and entertained with many anecdotes. We did so much in such a short period of time it was excellent value for money as an introduction to Paris.

Just back from a wonderful Paris short break. Mark is a excellent Tour Manager, full of information, and extremely helpful. It was a busy itinerary and we really got to see Paris in the best possible way. The optional Sunday evening Cabaret is good fun and worth going on. Comfortable hotel, good location however breakfast is very basic.

This was the first time my sister and I had visited Paris and we couldn’t have chosen a better way to see it! Our guide, Richard, couldn’t have been more helpful. He made the trip really interesting and informative and we learnt far more about the city than if we’d gone independently. It was busy - we enjoyed the river trip, the Palace of Versailles and all the city sights. We would recommend the trip to anyone and would have liked to stay a few more days ourselves. The hotel was comfortable and we had no complaints at all - just praise for a very well organised trip! Thank you.

From the moment we stepped aboard the Eurostar at Ebbsfleet Station and shown to our seats by Mark our tour manager, everything ran smoothly. It was our first trip with Riviera and the information that Mark gave us was exceptional. It was a very busy tour with lots to see and do. The optional cabaret at Paradis Latin was remarkable and well worth a visit. Hotel was very comfortable in a good location with a basic breakfast. Thanks again to Mark for showing us Paris at its best, including a very unique bar!

An excellent short break. The hotel was the Ibis Bercy village and although our room was basic and compact it was adequate as we spent so little time in it. The location was perfect, with many restaurants and the Metro within a few minutes walk. The tour manager, Diane, was undoubtably the best we have encountered (and we have had many escorted holidays with various companies over the years). She was very pleasant, attentive and helpful as well as being well informed. The organised tours were enjoyable and enhanced by Diane’s knowledgeable commentary. We got an all too brief taste of Paris and will certainly return for a longer stay some time in the future.

My husband and I spent a wonderful few days in Paris under the expert care of our guide, Andy. His obvious passion for the city was infectious and his historical facts and quirky insights made the coach trips absolutely fascinating. All travel arrangements were meticulously executed and the atmosphere in general was happy and easy as we were guided with a light hand. When one of our party was taken ill, Andy had everything under control and made sure she was accompanied to medical aid and supported at all times after that. Another very enjoyable, informative and entertaining holiday with your company - many thanks.

This trip was planned with my friend from New Zealand in mind and it exceeded all her expectations. Her wish was to see the main sites of Paris and the tour Riviera gave us together with the excellent tour guide Andy enabled to see so much in such a short time. Andy was a fountain of information and gave us lots of tips and ideas of things to do in our free time. The hotel was comfortable and clean, we had read the reviews about breakfast and were apprehensive but we couldn’t fault the amount and choice of food available.

Our first time in Paris which was made more enjoyable with the information given by the Riviera Travel Manager (Andy). His advice on the use of the Metro system enabled us to truly discover areas of Paris we in all probability would not have visited. The organisation of this holiday break was excellent even when slight alterations to the itinerary had to be made because of a mini-marathon ‘fun run’ was held in the centre of Paris on Sunday. Our hotel (Hotel Mercure) was of a good standard, clean and fresh looking and was located in an area where there were quite a few restaurants and bistro’s, although the ‘La Cardinal’ restaurant which we visited on our first night was not very good, the service was extremely slow, the quality of food not very appetizing and the prices were very high. Overall a very enjoyable and memorable experience where we made some new friends and I would not hesitate to recommend this trip and Riviera Travel.

The tour guide Mark was exceptional in his knowledge and guidance to make sure we got the most out of the trip. Hotel Mecure Port St Cloud was very comfortable with everything we needed in the room. Would definitely travel again with you… The arrangements from start to finish were first class making it the stress free break we had hoped for. Thanks to Mark the tour guide - very patient, helpful and knowledgable…:)

Have just returned from a four day visit to Paris, staying at the IBIS Hotel, Bercy. We would like to pass on a thank-you to your Courier/Representative, Jonathan, for his unfailing courtesy throughout. Jonathan was professional and most helpful at all times, and his knowledge of Paris, and its history was quietly impressive. Job well done, many thanks Jonathan and Riviera.

Most impressed with the organisation of the tour and the very good price. Hotel Mercure Porte de Saint Cloud was a very good base, friendly and comfortable. The cherry on the cake, though, was Cassandra, our tour manager. She was obviously extremely knowlegeable about every part of our tour and kept us well informed at all times. Wonderfully judged humour kept us all entertained, relaxed and happy - even when it rained throughout the day!
It was a really good experience for us, made better by the realisation that the Italian holiday our close friends were about to embark on was also with Riviera Travel. Good choice!!

We have just returned from a three night break in Paris staying at the Ibis Hotel, Alesia. Small, but clean and comfortable, quite central, with a wonderful selection of restaurants in the area. Excellent shower! Wonderful trip, which was well organised . We could have done with just one more day to do the bits and pieces we didn’t have time to - however, we must add that the icing on the cake was the tour guide - Andy - well organised, polite, nothing was too much trouble. This was the first time we had travelled with Riviera Holidays, but it certainly won’t be the last.

Would definitely go on holiday with you again. X

We have just returned from the 3 night Paris City break after stopping at the Hotel Mercure. The hotel was modern and very comfortable with big rooms. We indulged ourselves in Searcy’s Champagne bar in St Pancras before boarding Eurostar, silly prices, but a nice start to the journey. We were greeted on the train by our tour manager, Andy. This was our first guided tour and we were not sure what to expect. Andy introduced himself and from that moment he became our new best friend. His knowledge of Paris and France ( and just about everything ) was encyclopaedic. The suggestions he made for dining out were superb and his commentaries on the tours were so informative and amusing. We asked him a question which he did not know the answer to (not regarding the tour) He made it his business to find out though and came back with an answer after a quick text to one of his colleagues. His advice regarding safety and warnings about the unsavoury characters operating around Paris were excellent and enabled everyone on the tour to avoid becoming victims. The itinerary was extensive and did just what it said in the brochure. It was our first ever trip to Paris and our first experience on Eurostar, and this tour was a perfect introduction to a very vibrant and beautiful city. Five stars for three stars - Eurostar, Paris and Andy. Thank you Andy, your patience, humour, your inexhaustible knowledge and willingness to go the extra mile for us made this a stand out holiday to be remembered.

I took my 13 year old granddaughter to Paris last week and we both had a great time. We stayed at the Ibis, Bercy which was fine and ideal for a first peek at some lovely French shops in the Bercy Village. Everything was beautifully organised and presented by Cass, our Tour manager in a quietly efficient way. I’m already looking at another Riviera tour for next year!

This was my first trip with Riviera, travelling to Paris with my daughter and 84 year old Mum and I would thoroughly recommend using them to anyone. Mark our tour guide was wonderful, extremely informative and helpful especially as we had the added issue of using a wheelchair. Nothing was too much trouble and he went out of his way to ensure that Mum was ok. I will say though Parisien cobbles and wheelchairs don’t go together! It made for hard work around Versailles and Montmartre. The Ibis at Bercy village was comfortable, just work out the heating in the rooms though as we found ours was set at 25 degrees. If you have a disabled blue badge, do take it with you as reduced rates are available at various attractions including Versaille and the Eiffel Tower where we were fast tracked through so beat the queues. All in all we had a lovely trip thank you Mark.

Not long back from the weekend in Paris and had to do a review to say how great it was. Riviera had thought of everything, nothing left to chance, very very professional. It was our Ruby Wedding anniversary and has left us with many happy memories. The train, coach and hotel were all very well organised and we had a superb meal on a boat trip down the Seine, treated like royalty ! Our tour guide Suzan was out of this world, nothing was too much trouble for her. She is married to a Frenchman and knows all there is to know about Paris, her knowledge and enthusiasm was most welcome, Riviera you have a brilliant guide there, keep tight hold. All in all a wonderful experience and we will most certainly be using Riviera Travel again.

A wonderful first trip to Paris. An excellent taster. Travelled via Eurostar which was a very enjoyable experience and went without any hitches. Stayed at the Ibis Hotel in Alesia which was a good location for buses and the Metro. Our room was clean and comfortable. Area very well catered for restaurants. Our guide Libby was very helpful, nice, knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. The highlights of our stay were definitely the River Cruise with lunch on the Sunday and the visit to the lovely town of Versailles to see not only the Palace and the wonderful gardens but also the amazing food market on the Saturday morning. We really enjoyed this trip and would not hesitate to recommend Riviera Travel. We are off to Rome next year. Heidimarie and Chris Packer

Just returned from a fabulous holiday in Paris with Riveria Travel it was so well organised from the very first step on the Eurostar. The trip was full of lovely trips with our fantastic tour manager Phillipa who was just so informative and caring we were taken to all the important tourist places and given the opportunity to explore by ourselves if we so wished.
We stayed at the Ibis Aleysia hotel which was comfortable and very clean and was situated in a very vibrant area. If you go on this trip do not miss the typical Parisenne Variety show which was spectacular.
I thoroughly recommend this excellent value holiday and hope you are lucky enough to have Phillipa as your Tour Manager.

Have just returned from a few thoroughly enjoyable days in Paris. We were surprised and delighted to have the same tour manager( Diane) that we had when we visited Bruges in August. Diane has to be one of the most knowledgeable tour managers with a wealth of interesting practical and amusing information which she shared with us. She organised everything so well and in our opinion went beyond what you would expect from an escorted tour- she is a real asset to the company. ( If you’re reading this Diane thank you!) The break represents excellent value for money with a good variety of activities including time to do your own thing. We will definitely travel with Riviera again- many thanks.

Having just returned from Paris I feel I must express my delight with the service provided. My friend from America joined me on the trip and we chose a guided tour to give her the best Paris experience. Neither of us have taken a guided tour before, usually preferring to holiday independently. Well, we were both absolutely thrilled with the whole package but probably the thing which impressed us the most was the service provided by our guide Paul. Wonderful, so efficient, informative and caring. He really is an asset to your company. We had travel problems with the recent storm but he kept us all calm and full informed when our trains were cancelled. We cannot speak highly enough of his kindness and efficiency. We would definitely recommend Riviera Travel.

Just about recovered from a wonderful trip to Paris. We never would have managed to see & learn so much in what was effectively 2 days without Riviera and especially Mark our Tour Manager. He was an absolute wealth of information and made Paris a fun and pleasurable place to visit; a true credit to the company. From start to finish the organisation was impeccable and we could not have arranged the trip ourselves for the price we paid - I tried! We stayed at the Ibis Bercy Village, very handy for the Metro and restaurants, it was clean and comfy and the staff were very helpful. I would recommend Riviera without hesitation and am already looking at the other trips you run (just don’t tell my husband yet!).

Riviera’s excellent tour manager, Mark Davies, gave all of us the benefit of his very extensive knowledge of this city. I have just returned from Paris after having a short break with 3 friends. I just wanted to compliment our tour guide, Andy. He gave us loads of information, not just about the history and architecture but about the metro, the buses, the cafes, everything we could possibly have needed to know. The trip was quite short but I know that if we had try to ‘go it alone’, we would not have seen the half of it. I could go on but I just want to say thanks to Andy for his friendliness. Just back from a great weekend in Paris. Met on the euro star by Richard who was a fount of knowledge and who proved to have a great sense of humour reacting with our wonderful friendly group. The trips were fab and we were treated to much more information about how to get about the city when on our own . The Mercure St Cloud was a good base and the room was fine. Thank you for a lovely stay at the Ibis Alesia. Nothing was too much trouble for our guide Mark, who was a mine of information on practically everything Parisien and was happy to help anyone who was not too confident on finding their way around Paris or French customs generally with very easy-to-understand advice and information. This is a great trip for first time visitors to Paris or anyone who wants to travel but is happier having the back up of having a tour guide there. Thankfully, as I visited with my football-made mum, (but have no interest in football myself), Mark was also able to provide her with lots of football-related banter during the stay. A really enjoyable trip with a nice bunch of people and good attention to detail from our guide and Riviera. Thanks again.

She is obviously very knowledgable about Paris and nothing was too much trouble for her . Accommodation was fine ,clean and tidy and not in it much anyway. I just want to say a big thank you, we really enjoyed it. We stayed at the Timhotel where our room was very comfortable and clean and all the staff were very friendly. Our guide Michelle was fantastic with so much knowledge and information (a bit too much to take in sometimes), but she did a great job, always smiling and giving us a great time. We could not have seen so much if we had been on our own. All our coach drivers were brilliant as well. We went to Paradis Latin on our last night and had a fantastic time. Having thoroughly enjoyed a break in Venice last autumn, with two wonderful guides, Michelle and Pierro, we decided to give Riviera a second chance to prove they were the best. We chose Paris in April and were not disappointed. Rail to London and onwards by Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord, all booked and reserved throughout. There we were met by Florence (Flo) who was to be our guide and mentor for four days. The tour itself was straightforward and very enjoyable with all the boxes ticked in style (Paris by day, Paris by night, bateaux mouche, Versailles, Montmartre and so on). The hotel Ibis Alesia was neat, clean and comfortable with friendly, helpful staff and a more than adequate breakfast each day. Evening meals were at the Ibis (plain but good value), in Montmartre (moule frites at last!) and at the Moulin de Vert, just up from the Ibis and delicious, highly recommended. Roughly half our time was guided, using comfortable (and surprisingly maneuverable) coaches through the Paris traffic. The remainder of the time was free, to explore, to admire, to fall in love with this wonderful city again, with travel mostly on foot (the weather was good) or by Metro which really is easy to use everyone! It was Easter week and there were long queues at some of the more popular attractions. I would, for instance, save Versailles for a wet Thursday in December when you might have a better chance of reaching the entrance in under three hours. We gave up after 30 minutes and a quick estimate of time to go but here our wonderful guide, Flo, stepped in, took our unused tickets and successfully demanded a refund at the cafe where we had bought them! Bravo Flo and thank you also for such a wonderful time, always on hand to help and advise, knowledgeable, elegant, cheery and charming, plenty of stories to keep us amused on the coach and, well, everything a guide should be. Thank you Riviera and ‘a bientot’ Flo.

Myself, my son, my sister Rosemary Ryde (who booked the tour) and my parents have just returned from a weekend trip to Paris with your company. I would like to say what a wonderful time we had and how marvelous our manager Michele was. She looked after us all so well, was friendly, so informative and just made the trip 100 %. My mum is in a wheelchair and she was so good at sorting out the best options for that.
I know she has been with your company for many years and would like to say what a huge asset she is. We would definitely choose Riviera again and hope Michele was with us!

We should like to thank you for another lovely trip to Paris from 11th – 14th of this month. Our tour guide, Michelle, was excellent and had a very good knowledge of Paris. Tim hotel was a very convenient location, very near to the Metro, and the food was good. Our room was small but the beds were very comfortable which is always extremely important on holiday. Everything was well organised and was excellent value. Thank you.

Fabulous trip to Paris April 5-8, 2014 as part of Rivera’s short break to that city. The hotel selection, the Ibis Alesia, met our needs by being near a Metro as well as clean and comfortable. The tour itinerary was an excellent blend of viewing this vibrant city via bus, from the water and provided time to walk in order to see up close. Personally the best part of the trip was our tour guide, Philippe, who provided excellent information about the city and its sights but also, saw to our individual needs. Hats off to Rivera Tours for selecting guides who make a well-constructed trip, a very special event filled with lots of memories.

We enjoyed the Paris trip very much. During our brief stay we were able to see all the sights from the comfort of a coach. As independent travellers I think we would have struggled to achieve so much in such a short time. The tours were well organised, not rushed and Cass provided a fine commentary as we passed by each sight. She also gave useful tips, information and warnings to ensure we were prepared for free time out and about. We found her to be personable and helpful at all times. Our hotel was well located for the Metro and was a comfortable base to return to. All in all an excellent trip!

Just come back from a weekend trip to Paris with yourselves. I must say that it was a wonderful break and must pay compliment to your rep Richard. He was excellent in every way, great knowledge, helpful, considerate and humorous, a great asset to your company. We were told by a friend that your reps made the company and I fully agree. Will recommend your company to my friends and in particular the Paris trip and hopefully will have as good a time as we did. Thinking of visiting Germany next and will peruse your web site for a suitable venue.

We returned yesterday from a brilliant break in Paris. Everything ran so smoothly including the connecting trains to and from St Pancras. Our tour guide Annette was so helpful, amusing and friendly. The hotel Ibis Alesia was in a good location and comfortable. Everything was great, only the weather let us down. We will definitely travel with Riviera again.

Four people in our party, we all enjoyed the whole experience . Difficult to say what was the best part. Weather not great when we were there but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment. Annette was our tour manager, and we couldn’t have wished for a better person to give us our first taste of Paris. Absolutely charming person and so knowledgeable. Will certainly be very interested in Riviera trips in the future!

First time with Riviera. Just returned from our trip to Paris. A great time was had by all. A very well organised trip and certainly great value for money. The hotel was good as was all the trips we were taken on. Our guide Diane was excellent, great fun but so professional. I felt very safe with her and knew that if there had been any problems she would have taken control and dealt appropriately with them. I will be travelling with Riviera again and will be telling all my friends about my great time with you. Thank you and a big thank you to Diane.

My wife and I were delighted with this tour, despite the weather. The tour party was very well led by Michelle, our guide, who gave us a comprehensive summary of what could/could not be done in Paris within a short stay. The hotel in Point St. Cloud had excellent accommodation, although the breakfast was not well organised. The hotel was just inside the Central Travel zone, so a metro ticket could take one anywhere within that zone. The bus service was equally handy, perhaps better then the Metro. A meal for two in a restaurant near the hotel, with drink, would cost approx 50 Euros.

Just returned from the 4 day tour of Paris and I would firstly like to compliment yourselves on how well the trip was organised. Everything was planned out really well and ran efficiently. And a big “thank you” to our tour guide Andy for being so friendly, informative, flexible but always in control. He made the whole trip even more memorable than the fantastic attractions we visited. Would definitely recommend this trip and Riviera to other travellers and I look forward to booking another tour with Riviera soon.

Had a great trip to Paris. The optional tours were really well organised. Our tour guide Cass was really friendly and knowledgable and helped us find where we wanted to go. The hotel was clean and comfortable although the breakfast was a bit of a free for all scrum with not a lot of choice but it was a continental style buffet. The bars and restaurants around the hotel were a lot cheaper than the centre of Paris. I would definitely recommend Riviera Travel for a holiday and will be using them again

I have just returned from my first trip with Riviera to Paris by Eurostar and wanted to say how much I enjoyed it. I thought the mix between trips as a group and on your own was just right and I was very impressed by our tour manager Jonathan. He was so very informative and good-humoured and gave us many helpful tips and information before we set out. I came on this tour on my own but soon felt very much part of the group so being on my own was not a problem at all. The Timhotel was very comfortable and we were well looked-after. All in all a very enjoyable trip and special thanks must go to the helpful booking staff at Riviera for their efficiency and to Jonathan for organising everything so well.

I went on the Paris by Eurostar trip and I would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to Kay our courier who was just great, her knowledge of Paris and all the sites was amazing and how she manages to do it on a regular basis without it becoming parrot fashion I don’t know. She was very caring about all the people on the trip making sure that we were well aware of the danger spots whilst out and about visiting the sites as there were a lot of ‘unsuitables’ about. This is the first trip I’ve done with the company but will be back for more, looking at Classical Spain at the moment. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the company.

We returned from our Paris city break last Monday, the trip was excellent, our tour guide, Jonathan, met us at Paris Gare du Nord and got us by coach to our Hotel, Timhotel Bertier quite quickly, giving us some information en route. Timhotel Bertier was comfortable and provided a good and reasonably priced evening meal and a good buffet breakfast in the mornings. The coach tours of Paris and the trip out to Versaille were excellent and very informative. Jonathan gave us appropriate warnings on the need for security in a big city and showed us how to get around on the Metro; we were well looked after and had an appropriate amount of free time for a three day break. Eurostar is excellent.

I have just returned from a wonderful trip to Paris with Riviera Travel! I can’t say enough, how impressed I was on every level. The hotel was lovely, staff very helpful, the room clean with plenty of space and the bed extremely comfortable. However, the star in the crown had to be Andy our Tour Guide. He is knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and if there is something he doesn’t know about Paris, it’s not worth knowing http://websitev6.dev/images/smileys/smile.gif very impressed! All in all a brilliant first time visit.

We had the most fantastic time on our four day trip to Paris. Our guide, Andy, was fantastic. A nicer, kinder, more knowledgeable person would be hard to find. My husband and I ended our holiday feeling as though we had made a friend as Andy was such good company. Having read the other reviews I can’t believe any of the other reps could possibly know as much about Paris as Andy. Maybe Riviera should hold their own Paris quiz for the reps. If you’re reading this Andy, thanks again for a truly memorable trip - my little brain is aching with all the facts you gave us on Paris.!

We would like to thank you for our wonderful trip to Paris recently.
It was our first time that we’d travelled with Riviera Travel - but is certainly won’t be our last. Our tour guide Cas, was absolutely superb. The knowledge that she gave us enabled us to get the most out of our trip - without that knowledge, we would not have covered any way near as much as we did, we’re sure.
The organised trips that were included were of most informative value. They gave us a real feel for the city and enabled us to choose what was important for us to see in our free time and what will have to wait for next time. We used Cas’s recommendations of where to eat, and these proved an excellent choice for our experience. The Hotel also had a great balance of value for money and position in Paris for getting around.
Overall, we were thrilled to bits with our break and will most certainly recommend you to others.
One thing we would be keen to know is that Cas managed to get home OK on the return day Tuesday 13th May. One of the passengers needed wheelchair assistance, and at the last minute, Cas had to leave the Eurostar train to check out whether that passenger had indeed managed to get on the train or not. We believe she will not have travelled on the same train as us, which is a pity, because during the journey, we were going to go and tell her how wonderful we thought she was.
Keep up the good work - it’s also refreshing that you don’t ask us to fill in a ‘survey’. These surveys often consist of questions that are frustratingly worded so that the company get the ‘statistics’ they need to say ‘our customers said this……….’ but don’t really give you chance to give your real feeling. This way, we can say exactly what we feel - and you deserve a very big ‘WELL DONE AND THANK YOU’.

My wife and I have just returned from a great 4 day trip to Paris. As it was my first time, it was good to have the tours around Paris, which took us almost everywhere, and gave us the confidence to go back to the sites we wanted to see in depth. The whole experience was 1st Class from the moment we got on the Eurostar, where we were met by our Tour Guide Andy. He kept us informed of everything that was going to happen, when we got to Paris, and guided us throughout the break, with information on trips, restaurants, how to get from A to B in our free time, and how to use the Metro and buses. Andy also in told us what to do & not to do, regarding pickpockets and anybody else who wanted to fleece us of our money. Paris is a beautiful city and our trip was a fantastic experience, made better by Andy who made it run so smoothly. Thank you Andy and Riviera Travel

My wife Lyn has always wanted to visit Paris and travel on the Eurostar, so to earn some brownie points I bought a long weekend in Paris with Riviera Travel as a Christmas present last December. Not having experienced a short break before, I have to commend this Package as it was superb from beginning to end and good value for money. The planned tours - part of the package - were excellent in giving first timers like us a taste of the City and the wealth of places you could visit during your free time. Hotel accommodation was first class - Hotel Mercure, Port de St Cloud - but we would like to give our Guide Andy a ten out of ten! He made our weekend from start to finish, what with his charisma, his outstanding knowledge from things historical to pickpockets and nothing was too much trouble for him in ensuring we had a good weekend. I hope Riviera Holidays appreciate what a gem they have in their Representative, so it is thank you Riviera and thank you Andy for a lovely weekend.

Hi, Just a few words about the weekend. Everything went very smoothly from Newcastle all the way to Paris and back. The hotel was the Mercure at Porte De St-Cloud, it was excellent value for money. The tour guide was Cass, she was a lovely guide with a gentle sense of humour, very helpful, very knowledgeable and made the weekend stress free. This has probably been raised in the past but I wonder if the trip to Versailles would be better off coming first on the Saturday and the tour of Paris after, the queues were impossible but we did manage to get into the gardens without much of a hassle. But overall the weekend was a wow from all angles and I have already recommended the trip to a friend who is booked for the end of June.

I am sorry that my email is tardy but I should like to say how much we enjoyed our weekend away in Paris. The passengers were my parents, my husband and I and my 13 year old son - quite an age range and yet everyone had a good time. A lot was down to Michelle, your courier. She was very informative not only on the bus tours but also telling us about the little things - like how to use the lift in the hotel and how the metro worked. From our point of view she seemed to really enjoy the trip (although she must have done it several times before!). The fact that she met us on the Eurostar to tell us what to do when we got off the train was great as we were in no doubt about what to do It was just what we wanted - a carefree weekend in a lovely city with a friend (Michelle) to let us know what was happening. Thank you so much.

Wow - another fantastic weekend in Paris. The first was in April when I travelled with friends and stayed at the Ibis Bercy, Mark was our Tour Manager and he was brilliant and very helpful. So, with the knowledge gained from him, I decided to go back as a single traveller as I now know how to find my way around, this time our Tour Manager was Suzan and she did a wonderful job. I stayed at the Ibis Alesia so the tour routes changed slightly and so did the commentary, which gave more opportunity to learn about different places. The hotel was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well, it was very warm weather the whole weekend. I visited the town of Versailles, as I had already been in the palace in April, the town is lovely and has a busy market on Saturdays. The evening tour couldn’t leave until 10ish as it was the longest day of the year and did not go dark until quite late. That evening was extremely busy in Paris due to there being a very lively music festival going on and so I viewed the Eiffel tower sparkling from the Louvre instead of the usual viewing platform. There was so much to see, I was far busier than I had intended and will now have to go again to have the relaxing weekend I had envisaged! Thanks Suzan for letting me know where the cafe was which was featured in the Amelie cafe, it is my daughter’s favourite film and she was amazed I was in there having coffee on the Sunday morning! I had recently been to Florence and Tuscany with Riviera and had stayed in Volterra which is where the vampire headquarters are in the Twilight films, I was unaware of this at the time. This was my fourth trip with Riviera and I can’t wait to book again.

I have just come back from the four day trip Paris. What a great trip it was right from Newcastle where we picked up our train to Kings Cross. We then made our way to St. Pancras where there are loads of facilities. We boarded our Eurostar train and were met there by your guide, Andy who thoroughly looked after us. The whole journey was seamless which makes a difference when you are on holiday. The hotel was clean with good facilities although the surrounding area left a bit to be desired. Andy talked to us and recommended where and where not to go for eats etc. also warned us to keep money and valuables safe when out and about. All of the trips we went on were better than expected. What stood out for me on this city break was Andy the guide he was so pleasant, informative, and an absolute fountain of knowledge. We looked forward to the bus journeys just to hear his telling of the area history etc. Nothing was too much trouble he worked hard to make everything work for an enjoyable holiday . The rain was the only disappointment but even Andy could do nothing about that. With what we packed in it felt like a week’s holiday not four days. Well done Riviera!

Congratulations Riviera Travel. The tour did all you claimed for it. Suzanne, our guide, ensured that we all left with a better understanding of the culture and history of Paris and worked hard to ensure that we all reached our chosen destinations and no one was disadvantaged. The hotel accommodation was very good, but it was a pity that the breakfast fell below standards experienced elsewhere. The river trip and the visit to Versailles were very enjoyable. I hope to make other trips with you in the future.

We would just like to say how much we enjoyed the trip, how well organised it all was, and how good our Guide, Andy, was. When I read through the description of the tour on your website, it seemed ideal, but somehow you never expect reality to live up to the marketing. The trip was however exactly as described. The Hotel was as good as you need on this sort of break, the timings of the travel and all tours in Paris were well thought out, and the guide looked after everyone very well and we learned a huge amount about Paris (and other things!) from him. As a tour guide (for Nottingham) myself, I know that very few satisfied customers take the time to write their appreciation, so I thought I would email you. We would certainly go on another tour with you and please pass on our thanks to Andy for a brilliant time

I’ve just got back from my short break to Paris. This was the first time I’ve been to Paris and this was a great introduction. Our tour rep Diane met us on the Eurostar train and told us where to meet up at the station. Diane was a constant help who explained everything throughout the tour and helped make me feel very much at home in Paris. The Timhotel Paris XVII was very acceptable. The air conditioning was a godsend with the temperature being 37 degrees. I found the meals very good and reasonably priced, but there were plenty of other restaurants in the area for those people that wanted an alternative. The tours were very useful, but we still had plenty of time to do our own thing. I’d definitely use Riviera travel again.

Just returned from this tour. Hotel Mecure was excellent, rooms spacious ,clean, comfortable beds and friendly staff. Richard our tour guide was exceptional in every way and made sure every aspect of our holiday was as good as it could possibly be. Would highly recommend this company to anyone thinking about this type of short break. Only we would suggest if you intend to visit Versailles use the public bus and get there early, not enough time if you go on the tour as average waiting time was 2 hours. Paris by night and the latin quarter good trips well worth going on these. Would have no hesitation in using Riviera again and may even return to Paris.

Just arrived back from Ibis de Bercy Hotel after a wonderful trip. The hotel was friendly as were the fellow passengers. The tour manager Mark was very good. We decided on the third day to capture Paris on our own and watched the final stages of the Tour de France through the centre. It was amazing. We would recommend Riviera Travel to our friends

Just had a great break in Paris staying at the Mercure Hotel. Trip coincided with the finish of the Tour de France so inevitably there were some traffic problems but Suzanne, our guide coped admirably with everything including the loss of one couple in Montmartre. The Paradis Latin show was really good and the whole trip was well organised and run. However, if we could be permitted one suggestion, we would have preferred the evening coach tour of Paris and the afternoon boat cruise to be replaced by a night time boat cruise and a longer trip to Versailles—3 hours is not long enough to do justice to the Chateau and the Gardens. A final thank you to Suzanne for her endless patience and professionalism. We are now considering other trips with Riviera to Italy and Spain.

Fantastic short break to Paris, and very well organised. Many thanks to our tour guide Jonathan for sorting out an issue with our hotel room so quickly and efficiently (was initially a double room rather than a twin) and for being so kind and helpful throughout the holiday, it was very much appreciated. We stayed at the Mercure Paris Porte de St Cloud, which is a good hotel, and close to a lot of local amenities. We had a great time and would highly recommend, thank you!

Everything was so well organised BUT MOSTLY I really must give praise for the amazing attention to detail, pleasant attitude and wonderful way with words of our Tour Manager Diane. She made the holiday a marvellous experience, nothing was too much trouble and her pleasant clear voice kept us well informed and entertained wherever we went. She was tireless and relaxed in all stages of the holiday and I do hope she is well recompensed, she is a great asset to Riviera!
Thanks for a perfect holiday!

We enjoyed a great short break with Riviera Travel and would highly recommend your company. The Paris by day & night tours were excellent and our tour guide Andy was excellent at recommending places to visit and how to get around the city by metro. We made our own way back to Paris from Versailles and Andy gave us excellent info about the overhead train, he was so helpful and knowledgeable about the city. Our hotel at Bercy was lovely and clean, the rooms were comfy and it was in a great location for restaurants, bars and shops. We spent a fair bit of time touring about on our own using the Metro and we came home feeling we had really seen a lot of the city. Thank you Riviera.

Our tour guide, Andy, was very well informed (we thought he was a history major) & knowledgeable. He made the tour very interesting! We highly recommend this tour for a good overview of Paris - but a must with Andy :-D

Our family party travelled to Paris for a 4 day break. From the moment we arrived at St Pancras and boarded the Eurostar until we arrived back we were very impressed with the organisation of the holiday package. We were able to see and do so much in such a short time, but it gave us a taste to see more - and definitely with Riviera Travel. Tim hotel was very good, clean, friendly staff and central for Metro and on the plus side, a lovely park close by with lots of amenities. Our Tour Guide, Cass was fantastic. She was always cheerful and so helpful. She was always on hand with advice and help as she was very knowledgeable having lived in Paris in the past - nothing seemed to be too much trouble for her. THANK YOU Cass. We would thoroughly recommend Riviera Travel and we hope to be travelling with them again.

My husband and l have just returned from a city break weekend to Paris. Our tour guide, Suzan, was absolutely superb. Her knowledge and passion for Paris was delightful and impressive. My husband was unwell on day two, Suzan was genuinely concerned and offered to contact a doctor which was not necessary. Luckily, my husband was well enough to join us for Paris by night and Suzan called our room on day three to be sure he was okay - this is over and beyond customer service which we appreciated. Suzan wanted everyone to be comfortable and enjoy the weekend and made a point of checking daily with 50 people in our party if they needed help to get around and about in their free time. I could go on demonstrating other examples - in a word Susan was excellent and we had a great weekend. We would recommend Riviera and would be grateful if you could extend a BIG thank you to Suzan.

Having never travelled abroad before with my wife who has Ms, and is in a wheelchair I was troubled about the trip. I needn’t have been, for Suzanne the Riviera representative allayed all my fears. We were treated royally and nothing was too much trouble for her to organise for us. Bless you Suzanne your enthusiasm for Paris has entered our psyche now. The fact that we missed the coach back to the Seine was purely our fault as we loved Montmartre so much. We have rediscovered our thirst for travel once more thanks to Suzanne’s thoughtfulness. Just returned from a 4 day trip to Paris staying at the Mercure hotel. Hotel not too far out of the city but not a problem as the coach service was great. Very pleased at the size of the room as we had heard that Paris rooms are not known for their spaciousness, clean and the bed was comfy. Usual continental breakfast, more than adequate. Unusually for French hotels there’s tea and coffee making facilities, fab after a long day out. Cannot praise our tour guide highly enough (Andy you are a mine of information) and couldn’t do enough for all of our group. We would have literally been lost without him as he found out in St. Pancras when I got lost, many, many thanks for rescuing me. Once again had a brilliant time.

The Hotel Ibis at Bercy Village was excellent coupled with its brilliant location near the village. An absolute wonderful place to eat and enjoy Parisian life.
The Cabaret at the Paradis Latin must rate as one of the best shows we have ever seen.
A final but very special thanks to Andy our tour manager. His knowledge of Paris, its history and his keenness and helpfulness towards everyone was the best we have ever experienced during any tour. We would appreciate if you would pass on our thanks to him.

Just returned from a 3 night stay in Paris . We took our teenage granddaughters with us for a treat for doing so well in their recent “O” and"A” level exams in French and other subjuects. They had a lovey time, as did we. We stayed at The Alisia hotel in Montparnasse, which was fine for the purposes of our holiday. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We packed a lot into the short break and as another reviewer pointed out we feel we have been away for a lot longer. We would like to thank Richard, our tour guide, for the care and attention he paid to making our holiday as safe and as enjoyable and as informative as possible. The optional extra of a trip to the Paradis Latin was really enjoyable and although rather expensive was well worth the money. If we had tried to organise this for ourselves we would not have been able to see and do quite as much as we did. Thank-you Riviera Travel.

From the moment we got on the train in Manchester we could not have had a more enjoyable, stress free break. Your representative Cass made the trip so enjoyable and her local knowledge was excellent. Doing all the tours arranged with Cass pointing out all the places of interest and added little snippets of information we still had time to do some sightseeing of our own The Lunch cruise on the Seine which Cass managed to book for us as an extra was well worth the small extra cost. Thanks to Cass and Riviera Travel, a very good value for money trip. We hope to travel with you again soon

Mother & daughter just returned from our short break to Paris by Eurostar. Our tour guide, Mark, was fabulous right from the start of the trip and made everyone feel at ease, he was constantly available to all. The whole trip was well organised and provided a ‘bite-sized’ overview of the best of Paris. The hotel was very pleasant although breakfast was quite disorganised, but as it was very busy it was acceptable. If I could make a criticism it would be that we were not informed that shops do not open on Sunday and we had no time for real ‘shopping’. Perhaps with this knowledge we could have missed one of the tours to allow for a shopping spree in Paris. This said we did both thoroughly enjoy ourselves and would definitely go again. Thank you Mark for being so good at your job!

With her sharp wit and sense of humour, she brought us a history lesson of Paris without a hint of boredom. She had everybody giggling! Phillipa was so well informed about all things Parisian and gave us all great tips on how to get around when we were not on one of the marvelous tours included. We spent a great evening at the Paradis Latin show - lovely dinner and entertainment second to none. Our hotel Mecure Port du St Cloud, was very clean, spacious and comfortable and the staff were delightful. Off to Bruges with friends for our next trip in a couple of weeks. If you want a reliable, relaxing, well planned, hassle free trip then Riviera is the way to go. I have just returned from another excellent trip to Paris. Such an easy journey on Eurostar with a coach waiting at Gare du Nord to transfer you to your hotel. On the coach we were all issued with maps and filled full of useful knowledge by the Tour Manager. I went with friends in April and then alone in June and again this time. Such a relaxing place to be and with Riviera you are guaranteed to be looked after. I didn’t go on all of the trips this time as I have been on them before, (although the evening trip to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle is a must each time), but discovered new ground for myself, I learn something new on every visit. After getting advice from the Tour Manager, Mark, in April, I have confidently found my way around on both of my solo trips. Why am I still coming with Riviera? - because I would struggle to beat the price even booking direct, also I like having the reassurance of belonging to a group should I need help. The hotel, Ibis at Bercy Village, is in an excellent safe location, especially for soloists, with shops and restaurants just across the road and the Metro very close by. In June I had Suzan as Tour Manager, who was excellent and this time was lucky enough to see Mark’s smiling face again and listen to his entertaining banter. This was my fifth trip with Riviera having been on the Classical Spain and Florence/Tuscany trips, my sixth, to Lake Garda is booked already, I cannot recommend the trips highly enough and the staff is a credit to the company.

We were not expecting any special treatment and he went out of his way to look after us, seeking us out at St. Pancras, ensuring the wheelchair was always out of the coach every time we stopped and advising us on access to sites and transport. He went far beyond the call of duty and made our task so much easier. We did thank him personally but thought you should know too. Continental breakfast excellent with good choice and you could eat as much as you wanted!! We were looked after so well by our Tour Guide, Annette. Not only did she know Paris like the back of her hand, she also knew the history and had the ability to impart her knowledge in a way that was both informative and great fun. She looked after us so well, always there to guide us and, for example, on the return journey managed to arrange for us to board Eurostar before all other passengers. Thanks Annette and Riviera Travel. Will travel with you again in the near future.

I have just returned from the weekend to Paris that I booked with you for myself and a group of friends.
The weekend was great and was excellent value for money, the hotel was basic but functional however the breakfast was far better than expected.
What made the weekend even better was our superb tour guide Andy, his knowledge of Paris was fantastic but without his great personality and willingness to help his customers it would not have had the same impact. I would particularly like to thank him for looking after one of our group who was not very well on one of our trips, he was very kind and caring and this was greatly appreciated. He is an asset to your company and has certainly made us want to use your company again.
Thanks for a great trip.

This was my first trip to Paris and my first outing with Riviera - I hope to re-visit both. Our tour Manager, Diane, was a fount of knowledge and advice and was never too busy to answer questions or help in any way she could. I stayed at the Timhotel, Blvd Berthier - it was excellent value and the staff were unfailingly courteous and helpful. The coach trips out were really informative and did indeed cover all the main points of interest - the most sparkly bit was seeing the Eiffel Tower not only lit up at night, but the “on the hour for 5 minutes” twinkling which was quite spectacular. There was also time to visit places that were of particular interest over the weekend. All in all it was a brilliant trip and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a short break.

What an amazing trip!! My husband and I went and stayed at the Timhotel. Meryl was our tour guide and we can’t fault her, she was friendly, informative and helpful. After learning that I was pregnant and feeling slightly unwell she always made sure that I was ok and if there was anything she could do to help. We went to the Paradis Latin where I couldn’t have the planned menu, Meryl spoke to the staff there who were again very helpful and organised for me to have an alternative. Meryl has passed on her passion for Paris and we can’t wait to return!

I have just returned from a short break in Paris with two of my grandsons. This was the first time I have been away since my husband of nearly 50 years died earlier this year so I was a little nervous about it all. However, I need not have worried as we were well taken care of from the first stage of our journey on Eurostar until we arrived back at St. Pancras. Diane was very knowledgeable about Paris and was happy to give lots of advice. The Timhotel was clean and the staff were all very pleasant. The breakfasts were very good and plentiful (even for 2 teenagers !) and we had rooms opposite each other as we requested. It was really handy being so close to a Metro station too and we used the Metro several times during our stay. The organised tours were excellent, especially the tour of Paris by night and both the day and night tours had photo stops which was great. Myself and my grandsons had a wonderful time in Paris and we all want to go back again. That will have to wait though because I have just booked another of your holidays to go with my sister to Pompeii, Capri and The Bay of Naples. I can’t wait !

My Wife and I have just returned from a trip to Paris and would like to say what a wonderful time we had. The Rep/Guide ANDY was a delight, extremely knowledgeable about Paris, and always on hand with help and information. The excursions were first rate and the hotel Mercure St Cloud was excellent. The whole experience was a joy from start to finish and we look forward to going to Venice or Prague with your company next year.

We have just returned from a weekend in Paris. It is the first time we have ever been on an organised tour and we were not disappointed. Our guide Mark Davies was very knowledgeable and attentive and we were very happy with the content of the tour which was highly organised. We got a ‘taster’ of all the sights of Paris and Versailles which will make it easier for us if we were to visit Paris in the future. We will certainly look at using Riviera Travel again if we were to do any other weekend tours in the future. Our travel arrangements went without a hitch. Thanks to all concerned.

Just returned from our first trip with Riviera Travel to Paris. We were very impressed by the organisation of our tour and the inclusive excursions. We saw so much of Paris both by day and by night, as well as Versailles. Our tour guide Jonathon was brilliant, with lots of information, facts and interesting anecdotes. He was also very helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our safety at all times with useful tips on getting about on our own by public transport.

We have been to Paris many times before but not via Eurostar. We were very impressed with the professional way that Mark introduced himself to the group members on the Eurostar train and managed the journey from station to hotel. Although we did ‘our own thing’ throughout the weekend Mark was always available for additional information/ updates as to what was going on. Good central hotel with very good buffet lunch facilities if required on day of departure. Easy access to metro and buses, also within walking distance of Super U supermarket for French ‘goodies’ to take back to UK. Very good value package and good tour manager for those who are new to Parisian highlights.

Chose Riviera for our silver wedding break what a fantastic choice. We were met on the Eurostar by Mark who welcomed us and guided us throughout the whole tour, with a sense of humour, excellent advice and knowledge of paris and all destinations on the tour. Paris by day was interesting but Paris by night is a must (just for the Eiffel tower). Mark was even happy to guide us on the metro. The coach was always on time, was clean and tidy. We have recommended Riviera to our friends and would use them again. One word of warning be careful at Sacre Coeur as were intimidated by people trying to sell things on the way up luckily Mark had pre warned us there is a railway to the left to avoid these people the artist square is well worth a visit from caricatures to formal drawings, also the river cruise was organised really well and showed another view of the famous buildings, all in all a wonderful experience

Just returned from the Paris tour. I have never been before and somewhere I have always wanted to go. It was a fantastic 4 days. The Mercure Hotel was very good, outside of the centre but very convenient for getting around and for eating. The Metro and bus station are 2 minutes away. The tour itself went very smoothly from setting off from Preston and on the return journey. Whilst in Paris the itinerary was superb made even more enjoyable by our guide Paul. He is extremely efficient, knowledgable and a pleasure to meet. The coach drivers too were excellent. My first trip with Riviera but it will not be my last. (Already looking into booking at least one more). I will readily recommend the company to friends. Thank you very much for such an excellent experience.

We had some American friends over for two weeks and they wanted to visit Paris and London. We decided a guided tour of Paris would be the best way of seeing as much as possible. We had never used Riviera before, so were a bit apprehensive. Our worries soon disappeared. The relaxing train journeys from Sheffield to Paris via St Pancras help set the mood, but the services of Paul once we arrived in Paris, were the best I have ever experienced. Knowledgable, informative, amusing and always encouraging and helping people to explore on their own. He is a gem who is a great credit to Riviera. The hotel was good Mercure standard and the coach tours excellent. We are already looking a further tours with Riviera. Well done.

The tour to Paris was a present for my 70th Birthday on 28th March from our 4 children. We travelled on March 27th from Manchester by Virgin train to Euston then got a taxi to St Pancras where we boarded the Eurostar and were met in Paris by our Riviera guide . We arrived home on the 30th March after experiencing the delights of this wonderful city. My husband and I have not visited Paris before, so it was a revelation of visual delight. We stayed in the Mercure Hotel in the St Cloud district about 2 miles from the Eiffel Tower a very nice comfortable hotel in peaceful area with an ample buffet breakfast, also a nice bar serving snacks if required. There was a bus terminus near if you wanted to do your own thing, but we preferred to go on the coach trips, which were very well organised. Our guide Diane was a lovely lady giving us so much insight into the areas we were visiting, and going above and beyond her job, making us feel fully informed on the places we were visiting and making sure we stayed safe. The optional river cruise with lunch was wonderful, seeing the sights from another dimension, on the river Seine. Our visit to the Palace of Versailles spectacular, not too be missed, we didn’t manage the gardens this time, but next time! On Palm Sunday our visit to Monmartre and the beautiful church of Sacre Coeur with a service an procession even in the rain was beautiful. We loved every minute of the tour and can’t believe how much we saw in the time. The Paris by night tour another breath taking experience and the Eiffel Tower light display for 5 mins every hour magical. Would definitely recommend Riviera Travel, just wish it had been few days more.

We have just returned from our trip to Paris with Riviera and we had a great time. We both felt everything went smoothly and it was all so well organised. Our tour guide Anette was great at her job and she made it all so easy for our group. She had so much knowledge and was always there if you needed help with anything - always smiling too! She greeted us both on the Eurostar at London St Pancras and she was informative and positive from the word go. There are good choices of optional tours but we did our own thing, so you are given time to choose what you want to do. The trip to Palais de Versailles was great, I just wish we had more time because the queues were so long and we wanted to have a look around Versailles itself afterwards. Still brilliant all the same and we would go back to Paris in a heartbeat. The Mercure hotel in Porte de Saint Cloud was very stylish and there was plenty of food at breakfast! We would both recommend Riviera Travel to family and friends, due to their professionalism and the fantastic organisation which made our time in Paris so great. Thank you!

We had a wonderful trip to Paris last weekend & stayed in the Ibis hotel, Bercy. The hotel is perfectly situated in a quiet area, next to a lovely selection of restaurants & bars, a supermarket, cashpoint, tobacco shop, a lovely park & the metro. It was great to be able to get up and go as the metro is so easy to whiz around on, and it was great to get back to a place we knew would have open restaurants at very reasonable prices. Our guide, Andy, was brilliant! Very informative, friendly & funny. The first night we took the plunge and took the metro, with Andy’s help and went to the Troccadero which is opposite the Eiffel Tower, brilliant start to the holiday. The day and night tours are great to help you see where to visit and the trip to Versaille was lovely although we did not go into the house itself as the queues were too big, we had a good walk around the wonderful gardens. The hotel room is simple but very clean, with a very comfy bed, nice shower and it was quiet. The only worry i had was that there is no safe in the room but there are a few in reception, you need to be quick though as they go fast. I did not have one but nothing was touched in my belongings so all was well. Id highly recommend this taster tour & hotel & area.

My wife & I went to Paris on the above booking, from the very start of this trip from St Pancras everything went so smoothly. Mark our tour manager was excellent, always doing that little bit extra to ensure our stay in Paris was a brilliant experience. The hotel Ibis Alesia was fine with helpful staff, rooms were a bit small but this was no problem as we hardly spent any time in the room. I would also like to say the room was nice & clean & well serviced. We would like to thank every one at Riviera Travel for such a good experience & we will certainly be looking at taking more trips with you.

We have just returned as a party of 4 from Newcastle upon Tyne. We would like to recommend this tour being a great way to spend four days in Paris. This was a new experience for us all and was enjoyable from start to finish. The highlight has to be meeting and spending time with the tour guide Andy, who was a fountain of knowledge, humour, and good advice on what to be cautious about, as well as places to eat and sights to see whilst spending free time. We would throughly recommend this tour operator and staff to anyone wishing to enjoy the experience of new environments. We will certainly look to book another tour through Riviera Tours.

We have just returned from your Paris break, 2nd to 5th May. We were delighted with the over all experience which was made just perfect by your tour manager Andy. We have been on other tours to various destinations with other companies, but only one other tour manager has been on the same page as Andy. My wife was not well during the journey from St Pancras to Paris, which has been diagnosed as a kidney infection which is now being treated in the UK. Andy was very helpful during our stay and kept a close eye on the situation for the duration, for which we both thank him. This guy is caring, and a great tour guide with a vast knowledge of Paris. Kind, caring and very knowledgeable about the city, he had the coach rocking with laughter on many occasions with his well delivered tales. He also made sure we knew how to get to (and from!) attractions whenever we went ‘off-piste’. We stayed in the Ibis Bercy Village and loved the friendly atmosphere of the surrounding bars and cafes. Thank you to all concerned at Riviera Travel for a most enjoyable three night stay in Paris. To start with we had wonderful weather, though I realise that Riviera was not responsible for that! Everything else though was brilliantly managed. The Hotel Mercure was very good, the rooms clean and comfortable with the facilities of a kettle (but take your own mug if you don’t like drinking from cardboard cups!) a fridge, plus a complimentary bottle of water, and a hair-drier in the en suite bathroom. Breakfast was a bit of a bunfight! There was a good balance of tours and free time and an especial thank you to our tour manager, Jonathan who was a superb and also a most entertaining guide. This is the second tour I have taken with Riviera - a trip to Andalucia was also excellent. I’m just about to book up for Dubrovnik, the Dalmatian Coast and Montenegro.

We have just returned from an excellent 4 day weekend in Paris. From start to finish the whole experience was made very easy by our brilliant tour guide Andy. In fact, apart from the beautiful sights, we feel Andy really made the experience for us and was a knowledgable, funny and caring tour guide who had time for everyone. We were the youngest in our party and it was our first time travelling alone to another country, therefore when huge delays getting home on the Eurostar caused some anxiety, Andy was 100% there to make us feel reassured and made sure we got back to England safely and happily. As for Paris, we were extremely pleased by all the tours that were on offer, we wouldn’t have been able to see half of the things we wanted to without these pre-arranged tours. Even the coach-only tours were made interesting and good fun by Andy and we got to see everything we wanted to. He even told us, very thoroughly, how to get back to see our favourite sights and in fact, we got to go back on our own to almost every major sight in Paris via the metro. We would also highly recommend going to see the cabaret show, was definitely a highlight of our trip. Even as the youngest couple we made lots of friends and by the end of the trip we were all laughing and having fun pretty much all as a group. Overall as first time alone travellers, we were extremely happy with everything Riviera offered, from our hotel to our tour guide, to our transfers the whole experience was made so easy and relaxing even with the full-on itinerary!! Would highly recommend Andy and this trip in general!

We are delighted to say what a wonderful Paris break we have just experienced from start to finish. We travelled from Manchester to Euston and then Eurostar to Paris where we were greeted by Susan our Tour Guide for the duration. Nothing was too much trouble and her knowledge was a credit to her. It was amazing how much we fitted all the sightseeing in and how well organised. The Hotel Mercure at Porte De Saint Cloud was excellent being spacious and comfortable and good food. We ate at the nearby Restaurants too and also our highlight was lunch on the Bateaux Mouche, so relaxing . All the tours were well planned and we made friends with other people on the tour. We chose this tour because it was such a good Itinerary and if we were left to do our own we would not have seen all that we did. We will recommend it to our friends too. Four of us enjoyed a wonderful four day break in Paris to celebrate wedding anniversaries and retirement. The Hotel Mercure in Saint-Cloud was a comfortable base and the inclusive excursions covered most of the sights to be seen in this wonderful city, certainly whetting the appetite for a second visit. That was enhanced by the guidance given by tour manager Andy. He was a mine of information on the city and always ready to lend a helping hand whether it be the choice of a restaurant or how to use the Metro. Even when we were delayed on the return Eurostar leg Andy made everyone feel at ease, making sure that everything was in place for those with onward journeys home from London. And for us the bonus was that he introduced us to the delights of a glass or two of Kir at a cafe across from Gare du Nord, while waiting for the delayed train to depart. Cheers Andy!

She was absolutely committed to our individual needs from the moment we met her and was so knowledgeable about Paris and our trip to Versailles that she was able to talk with interest for the whole time. She clearly loves her job and her enthusiasm was infectious. The highlight for us other than the guided coach tours was the Cabaret! Terrific. Davina and Patrick Thorp

We have just returned from your tour of Paris and would like to make these observations. The reservation details arrived on time and were accurate and comprehensive. The hotel Ibis was well worth the money, very comfortable and clean. Good food and service. The itinerary was very comprehensive and easy to comprehend. The weather was fantastic and our party were very supportive and friendly. The courier was Mark Davies and what he didn’t know about Paris we couldn’t find out as every question was answered fully and understandingly. His concern for our safety and comfort was outstanding and easily the best travel rep I’ve ever dealt with. It’s the first time we’ve used Riviera, but it won’t be the last.

Great trip better by being ‘managed around that great capital’ but plenty of free time also. Excellent company.

Marion and I would like to thank Riviera for a wonderful long weekend in Paris. The hotel was exceptional, service excellent and everyone extremely helpful. Our tour guide, Cass, was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and made everything very uncomplicated. We would like to give her a special mention as, without her, the holiday would not have been such a success.

Returned this evening from Paris. We had a fantastic weekend, that was very well organised. Our guide Andy was soooo knowledgeable about all the sights and history of Paris. He always kept us informed of the timetable for the weekend. For any members of our party that wanted to explore alone he advised them. We considered this weekend as a taster, to return later and spend more time visiting the places that interested us.

We have just returned from a long weekend in Paris and wanted to thank Riviera for a fabulous trip. Every detail of the travel was very professional and we travelled without any hitches. The hotel in Paris, The Mercure, was well situated and provided easy public transportation into the city centre. It was a very full itinerary and we would particularly like to thank Jonathan our Tour Guide for the extra mile he went to to help ensure that everyone enjoyed their visit. His knowledge of Paris was amazing and his wit and good humour made the whole trip most enjoyable. Thank you very much and you can be sure we will be booking with Riviera again!

First time with Riviera Travel and it wont be our last. From start to finish everything was hassle free and so organised. Our tour guide Jonathon (John) was exceptional, extremely knowledgeable, very polite and nothing too much trouble, even getting bus tickets and taking us to required bus, waiting with us until arrival all after our river cruise. In our opinion a valuable asset to the Riviera Team. We enjoyed our stay at the comfortable Mercure Hotel, spacious, very clean although a bit expensive in the bar. John recommended the tours and although we have future holidays booked we will certainly look for the short break to Bruges for next Summer/Autumn 2016. Many thanks for the Paris experience.

We had the most fantastic weekend in Paris. We would like to thank Andy our Tour Guide for his amazing knowledge about the history of Paris, and his guidance around the sights of Paris, pointing out places of interest. Our friend Mr Byfield organised the trip with your company and we would certainly recommend any friends to use Riviera Travel.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Paris, made all the more relaxing as our friendly rep Jon was so well organised, informed and professional. His knowledge of Paris and his helpfulness ( eg he bought metro tickets for us, took us to the relevant bus stops and ensured everyone knew how to make an easy independent journey back to the hotel if they wanted to stay on at Versailles). This made the whole weekend run smoothly ensuring we got the most out of our time in Paris. We hope to be booking our next trip away to Bruges with Riviera soon.

I would like to say how much we enjoyed our trip to Paris (11-14 Jul) - it was worth every penny! Special mention goes out to Andy, our tour guide, who was friendly, helpful and informative and at one point on the trip wasn’t very well but still managed to give us the tour!

Hi to all at Riviera Travel Must tell how much my wife and son and myself enjoyed a recent break with your company. Trip was to Paris 3rd - 7th July. It was brilliant - didn’t believe we would see as much as we did, the hotel Ibis was very good - ideal location, and on top of all that the tour guide was exceptional, Andy was his name, the man was so friendly and just could not do enough for anyone in the group. The trips out were very interesting and very well presented. So well done Riviera and thank you so much Andy.

Where to start, I have just recently completed my Journey to Paris with this lovely company and for my first Riviera Trip it has been fantastic. The journey from start to finish has been non complicated and thoroughly relaxing. Our tour guide Andy for our stay has been full of knowledge and fun facts, our hotel the Mercure was very clean and tidy, and the coach drivers have all been safe and friendly. We have thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Paris with this company and will defiantly recommend this trip and any other trips in the future. Thank you for a lovely time.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely long weekend in Paris to celebrate our second wedding anniversary, made all the more enjoyable by Riviera Travel and Mark, our fantastic and very witty rep! This was our second trip with Riviera and we loved them both. Thank you.

There were 6 of us, all ladies. We had an amazing time. Our guide Diane was so professional and so knowledgeable and always there on hand to give advice. She made our stay so special for me and our party as it was my 60th birthday. We stayed at the Mercure St De Cloud, if I could make one small criticism it would have been nice to have porcelain cups and saucers in the room not plastic beakers with tops on.

Returned home yesterday from our first ever Paris tour 7 to 10 August. A wonderful long weekend - thank you Riviera for a hassle free, comfortable and most enjoyable visit. Really good value for money. The hotel Ibis was very comfortable and near to lots of eating places. Near to the metro too which is a wonderful inexpensive way to travel. Our tour guide Andy was superb nothing was too much trouble to make sure we all had a good time. His knowledge of Paris is amazing - he really made the trip for us. He made sure we were all safe, knew where we were going and how we were getting back if we went off on our own. The Paris by Night tour was fantastic as was the river trip on Sunday afternoon. Thank you Andy - you are worth millions to Riviera. Our first trip with you and it won’t be our last.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend in Paris we had a lovely time and the tour guide Suzanne could not have been more helpful. My wife is disabled and she advised which trips were suitable and which were not. This was our first wedding anniversary, and it will always be special for us. We are looking to book with you again but would like advice on suitable destinations in Europe, for disabled people thank you.

We have just returned from a three week holiday, which included a three day trip to Paris with Riviera Travel. Well, what can we say except WOW, what a great time we had and with such an amazing company. Jonathan was our tour guide and was absolutely superb. He has a brilliant balance of professionalism, friendliness, and responsibility which add up to make one excellent tour guide. We loved your great sense of humour Jonathan - even whilst coping with the added pressure of the finish of the Tour de France and the road closures in central Paris! The hotel was a great choice and so well situated, food, company, evening show/dinner with just eight of us choosing to go, and Everything else, all added up to a most enjoyable break. We are now looking at the Southern India and backwaters of Kerela tour in January!! Book with Riviera…they will not disappoint!

I just wanted to feedback how helpful our tour guide Suzan was. We’ve just had a lovely weekend in Paris and wanted to share how much we appreciated the service provided by her. She was happy to take on any problem and provide advice to make sure we got the most out of our stay. Please do pass on our thanks and recognition of the hard work she does.

Just returned from the Paris 4 day tour. An excellent experience, good hotel, packed programme of visits and an excellent courier, Suzan. She was informative, experienced very approachable and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble for her.
I would recommend this holiday to anyone.
But, there is always a ‘‘but’ we would have liked another day in Paris. August was very busy and we spent a lot of time in queues at the popular sites meaning that we could not visit as many others as we would have liked.
All in all an excellent experience. We will use your company again.

I have just returned from a weekend break in Paris which my Aunt very kindly took me on and it is the first time I have been away since losing my husband in February this year. It was fantastic!! I really enjoyed it. So well organised, fabulous trips in both bus and boat, an amazing Cabaret that had breath taking acts and a lovely hotel. I have smiled to myself when reading the reviews because of how many lovely comments are written about Andy and how exceptional he was. I need to include this too, it was a brilliant weekend but Andy made it fabulous. His vast knowledge made every trip we did so interesting, his very caring nature was obvious to everyone as he had time and did all he could for every person on that trip and his humour was great fun. I had a very personal thing to do in Paris and Andy helped me to do it. I now have a very special memory that I wouldn’t have had without Andy’s input and I will never forget this trip or Andy because of it. I would recommend Riviera Tours to everyone and if you’re lucky enough to have Andy as your Tour Manager you are in for an amazing holiday break. Thank you Riviera ....... and Andy!!

My niece and I have just returned from a an excellent, well organised tour of Paris with a good and enjoyable programme. The Hotel Mercure was comfortable and we had a superb tour manager and guide in Andy, who did all he could to ensure that we were well informed and safe. His wonderful knowledge of Paris made every coach trip fascinating and an intellectually enriching experience. We were given great support and care by Andy and feel very fortunate that we were in his group. Thank you Andy and thank you Riviera!

Just back from our Paris tour with my daughter and father in law; Andy the Riviera rep looked after all the guests in a caring way and was particularly considerate about assisting and advising however small or seemingly trivial the request. We were very impressed with Andy’s depth of knowledge about Paris whether it’s history, politics, architecture, culture & of course its cuisine & drink. We also appreciated his wit & humour. Thank you Andy!

My first trip abroad and I couldn’t have asked for more. Richard, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, amusing and considerate to my needs and those of other travellers. Hotel Mecure was good and I could find no fault with the accommodation or the service of the staff. As a single traveller the company of a very friendly group of people was very welcome but did not prevent me ‘doing my own thing’ when I wanted. Once again many thanks to Richard (in particular at Versailles and for details of the 72 bus! ) who did so much to make this trip special with good advice, humour and assistance. A wonderful experience and I can’t wait to return to Paris and see more of the sights which I couldn’t cram in to the short break. I will certainly be booking with Riviera travel again but whether it’s to be Italy or Paris is yet to be decided.

Had a great four day tour of Paris with my wife, daughter and Grandaughter. This was the first time that we have been to Paris and also the first time that we have traveled with Riviera travel. The whole experience was wonderful, all mainly down to our excellent tour guide, Cass, whose customer care was outstanding and her knowledge of Paris made the trip worthwhile. On a personal note I left my spectacles on one of the buses after the evening excursion, and Cass made every effort to find them, which she did and then posted them onto me. A big thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A worthwhile tour made all the more by the profesional and informative tour guide, Cass.

I’ve never been a tour traveller. I’ve had the luxury of discovering London in my own fashion during extended stays these past few years and have really enjoyed this approach, living as a local for many weeks at a stretch. (We’re Canadian seniors) However, I had to get to Paris and could only pry a weekend loose from my partner’s schedule so I talked him into this tour. We really enjoyed it, largely due to the extensive professionalism and deep knowledge of our guide, Richard. We were impressed at every turn by his professionalism, humour and organization. No detail was too small, all needs considered. We saw far more than I would have thought possible in such a short time. There was just the right balance of tour, optional extras and free time. Advice re: local Metro, bus, walking transport was offered to help us make the most of our time. In addition to provided tours we were able to wander back streets, eat in cafes visit a couple of our top interests without feeling exhausted. This was a wonderful way to be introduced to Paris. My partner had been a few times but he learned a lot too! Highly recommended.

Despite the torrential rain, my 91 yr old aunt and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Paris. Cass; our tour manager, was superb. We were so impressed with her organisational skills, local knowledge, timing, compassion, empathy, sense of humour and excellent interpersonal skills. Cass is an asset to your company.
The tour was well-organised and seamless. Thank you.

I have just returned from this Tour and have to say it exceeded my expectations. This was my first holiday since losing my Husband and I travelled alone. The tour rep Mark was amazing, his knowledge and advice made the whole experience so easy to enjoy. He ensured that every member of his party had all the information they needed to make the most of every minute of the trip. Especially me as I was a lone traveller. I was lucky that my travelling companions also ensured I was not alone and all in all I had a wonderful time.
The hotel Mercure St Cloud was excellent and the location was perfect for getting around independently if required. Paris of course is a beautiful city to visit and we saw as much as was possible in the time. Thank you Riviera Travel and thank you Mark.

We’ve just returned from the brilliant Paris tour, staying at the Ibis Bercy Village. This is our first trip with Riviera and it certainly won’t be our last! Bercy village is an excellent location, the little shops and cafes are a delight and so handy for the Metro too. We opted to go on the excursion to the Paradis Latin. This was a typical Parisian show; very colourful with various entertainers and a very enjoyable 3 course meal with wine. The whole tour was very well organised and our Tour Manager, Diane, was excellent, friendly, informative and professional throughout. She is a credit to the company. Thank you Diane and see you again soon Riviera Travel.

We have just returned from the Paris tour and wanted to say how great it was. The Timhotel Berthier was excellent with very friendly staff and good food in the restaurant, reasonably priced. The included tours were excellently organised and our guide, Suzanne, brought Paris to life! A fountain of knowledge, tips, suggestions. My sister celebrated her 70th birthday, and Suzanne even organised a cake and candle for her. She made our trip so special. Many thanks, Suzanne. We shall most certainly book again

Had an excellent trip to Paris and managed to see a lot in a short time. The tour guide Mark was very knowledgeable and, on top of the tours, gave us lots of information about the local area - buses, restaurants etc. The Mercure hotel was comfortable and a not far from the centre of Paris.
It was a lovely way to celebrate my Mum and Dad’s Diamond Wedding Anniversary. I’d highly recommend it. Thanks Riviera!
