Will I have to dine on my own?

Not at all. Your tour manager will make sure that you never dine alone, unless that’s what you prefer. We include a welcome dinner with all our tours to help guests settle in and get to know each other. We find that even when meals aren’t included, people will still dine together, giving you the perfect opportunity to share your experiences.

Are all meals included?

All Riviera Travel solo traveller holidays include a welcome dinner, but not all meals are included for every tour. This is because some places have a fantastic array of dining options that we really think you’d like to discover, and trying out the local food is an enjoyable way to get to know an area. Your tour manager will gladly recommend a number of choices to suit your palate and dietary requirements.

Is there an additional single supplement?

No, all our solo tour prices are fully inclusive with no single supplement to be added. Whilst hotels generally charge a little more for single occupancy rooms, we never charge you extra for meals, excursions, flights, rail journeys or transfers. We are confident that if you compare our prices, you will be pleasantly surprised - we create superb tours that offer real value without any compromise on quality. We will never inflate our prices to later offer artificial discounts, as it has always been our policy to be honest and transparent with customers.

Where will I meet the Tour Manager?

Your dedicated tour manager will often meet you at the airport when you check in and fly with you to your destination. On all of our tours departing by Eurostar, your Tour Manager will be at St Pancras station to greet you when you arrive. On occasions where this isn’t possible, a Riviera Travel team member will personally greet you at the airport to help you check in and introduce you to other tour group members. 

What is the likely age range of the group?

Whilst our holidays appeal to people of all ages, most of our customers are in their 50s and 60s, but to them age is just a number – what’s most important is sharing the experience of discovering an awe-inspiring destination.

Will I have to share a room?

No, never. On our solo holidays every customer has their own room all to themselves. All of our tours include use of a double/twin room for sole occupancy. Rest assured, all hotels have been personally checked by us to guarantee a comfortable stay.

Is this a match-making service?

Certainly not. People travel alone for many reasons, be it by choice or circumstance. Riviera Travel solo traveller holidays provide a safe and enjoyable environment for solo travellers to discover the world.

Are there additional excursions?

Generally, we do not offer additional excursions, as our itineraries have been carefully created to include the most popular sights. However, on occasion we do offer some slightly more special interest excursions, such as a flamenco show in Seville - but to help you to budget we will make sure you have the details before you travel of course.

Can I travel with a group of friends on solo traveller holidays?

Our solo collection is designed to help solo travellers make the most of their time away, and getting to know your fellow travellers really enhances the experience. We also find that your holiday is much more rewarding when you travel in groups of no more than two people. If you prefer to travel in a larger group, we highly recommend our regular tours.

Is my money protected?

Absolutely. Riviera Travel has been operating since 1984. We are fully bonded by ATOL for any holidays that start with a flight and by ABTA for any rail journeys. This means that if the unexpected happens, you won’t be left out of pocket or stranded abroad.
